    • Energysystems: $VALE has been very volatile the past few months. Many days either up or down 3-4%.

    • Seriouspatt: Because this is the stock exchange. Mr. Market is moody - don't try to understand moody people.

    • losbronces: Its under the thumb of Dilma Rousseff too. Thats why it will continue to sell @ a discount to peers imo.

    • Liam Garrity-Rokous: IMO it sells at a discount because it's reliant on Chinese demand and Iron ore prices are falling. http://seekingalpha.com/n/147zn

    • Liam Garrity-Rokous: I still like Brazilian stocks and VALE in particular though.

    • losbronces: You might want to listen to what Dilma has been saying lately. Sounds more & more like Chavez and less like Lula. Peers depend on China too

    • Liam Garrity-Rokous: True but VALE is extremely dependent on China and on iron ore prices. That's just my thought process though. It's probably a combination.

    • 603: I agree... usually there is some connection to either political fortunes of Rouseff, Mining rights in Simandou, or the Valemax saga.. today?

    • losbronces: MercoSur meetings have been going on in Venezuela. More promises of SA solidarity. Maduro, Evo, Dilma, Cristina, Mujica, Cartes all there.

    • losbronces: Not much coverage in US media that I can see, except for Evo branding Israel a terrorist state. No Bolivian visas for them.

    • 603: @seriouspatt: Im a married man, its my destiny to try and understand moody people. @losbronces: the MercoSur meeting sounds impactful today
