  • Solving The Debt Crisis Will Require Real Politik [View article]
Gridlock is part of the plan of checks and balances. Gridlock ensures that bad ideas are never implemented. The ear-marks are pork barrel projects that unfortunately many lawmakers feel that bringing home the pork is their primary reason for going to Washington in the first place.

Great plan, but that doesn't generate any votes except from those crazy tea party types.

  • You May Have Little To Lose And Much To Gain By 'Selling In May' [View article]
For too long everyone has been waiting to a correction, any down day that comes along has been followed up with more buying. When people "give-in" and stop looking for a correction, look out!

  • Tesla Motors: Long Now, Short Later [View article]
Out of many articles about Tesla, I think this may be the most thought out. Most of those that are bullish on the company are so more because it is a moral judgment than an investment decision. Most that are Bearish on the company just don't like the culture behind it. Ultimately, we will see in the long run what happens.

  • Beware: Market Complacency And Speculation On The Rise [View article]
I am currently running about 50% cash now. In a very broad sense, I like to look at things as the likelyhood of upside verses downside. The worst part about a relative known coming event is that they usually don't come soon enough, or even worse they arrive too soon.

  • Good News For The Market From Congress And The Fed [View article]
There seems to be a duel between the feds pursuit to get unemployment low and Washington to keep interest rates low. granted higher employment will create more revenues, but will the higher employment bring in more than the interest payments required to pay the treasury notes. And most importantly how do Washington and the federal reserve view this balance.

  • Why Great Northern Iron Ore Is Overvalued [View article]
I too am watching both $GNI and $MSB. Have owned $GNI for a few years and sold it last year. Plan on buying $MSB after it stops its current sinking in price and holding for the long run. Will continue to watch $GNI as a view into how $MSB is likely to play out in the years to come.

  • Going Over The Fiscal Cliff Will Create An Epic Dash For Cash [View article]
Going over the cliff will be very anti-climatic, kind of like Y2K. The effects will be long and slow, not abrupt.
