I work for a living. I work in high tech and science. I spent a short stint doing algorithm development for high frequency trading before fate deemed it fit to put my moral standing back on its feet, so to speak. Having worked on trading strategy and as a productive worker in the creative workforce, I have a strong affinity for the ironically lower paying latter. These days I'm more interested in monitoring and understanding the effect the over-simplified and too-oft plain-old-wrong sentiments on 'the street' have on those of us down in the trenches trying to move technology, and to a lesser degree society as a whole, forward. I believe in the value of investment. I do not believe in financial games: masses of banks and investment firms trying to make money by strategically moving money around, at it's best, simply leeches on the value created by the companies they 'invest' in. Investment is long. I am very biased having seen both sides of the coin. One side is platinum, the other is rhodium plated: trying to be something it's not.
