  • Doubling Your Dividend Aristocrat Yield  [View article]
I'm surprised that neither the author nor any of the "common taters" mentioned the effect of market volatility on this plan.

Today the VIX is about 22. At Christmas it was in the 14's. To get a commensurate option premium on just about any stock back then as opposed to now required one to sell options farther out in time.

    "Immense Future Potential"

Another edge for CVX: Its implied volatility is always a bit higher than that of XOM, so covered call writers can often do a bit better with CVX than XOM. Having said that, XOM does present the benefit of half-dollar strike prices.

"Getting paid by the word" is an idiom applied to verbose people. Google it.

To Mr Thomas, I'll be brief: Cut the BS and write economically for us poor schmucks who don't have all day to wade through silliness.

Thanks for the article. There were some worthy kernels in there.

SunCoke (SXCP) makes coke for the production of steel. Most of its sales are in the U.S., although it does have a coke plant in India and another in Brazil. To my knowledge, if SXCP sells coal, it's not enough to talk about.
