at age 92 and watching oil and gas for most of it - try this for a
hedge -- get some old dry hole maps, completion reports, and logs,
--study them --buy some cheap leases. --A dry hole when oil
as five bucks a barrel can be a real barn burner with prices
    and technology we have today

  • 3 American Oil Company Royalty Income Trusts Worth Looking At [View article]
heve a 7 figure balance of MLP's in my portfolio and a good accountant who sorts it out for me. Altho I have a substanitial
amt of BPT Dont know if it should be classified as oil or
a pipeline read the indenture I believe it calls for a payment
bassed on a number of bbls passed, multiplied by the
price of west Texas crude. Does that make it a hybrid? whatever
it has been kind to me for over 10 years.Depleting asset? sure -
origin offering says we are close to the end, - based upon the
producable oil at those prices . Now =New ballgame

come to the party the bakken is great, but abt 10 times that
lease acreage in wyoming, colo., even nebr.is being gobbled
up by foreign companies. and our own, to use new drilling
technology in a new shale play, where the recoveable is
about half that of the bakken, but still profitable. look at
    their new lease acquisitions.

sure -92 years, retired from corporate serfdom abt 40 yrs ago,
started over as landman, Pickens has it right, the Infrastructure
can and will be built if the Washington politicians just dont
stick their oar in the mashed potatoes, and well have nat gas
or diesel therefrom, for autos and the 18 wheelers. thank heavens
we have idiots like the obama gang trying to suppress it. that should
    assure its success.

  • What Will Reverse the U.S. Dollar Downtrend? [View article]
energy (BTU, British :Thermal Unit) is a true constant, that ignores
the dollar price, but maintains the most constant value
I have more confidence in the purchasing power of a barrel of
West Texas Crude, (or ton of coal) than I have in the purchasing
power of the good faith and credit of the US GOVT

BP's "disaster" can be regarded as part cost of discovering the worlds
greated oil field. Petrobras, Chinese Offshore Oil (CEO), Russia,
Shell, italian (E) and others are already using the information from
BP spill, while we sit on our thumbs with a moratoriuim and pay
a billion dollars a month to terrost nations for oil --while we have
    an abandunce of it.

age92, retired.various engineering and science work, oppose most
global warming and much environmental, as very bad "science" used
to promote a political agenda.---- world moves on Energy, on a world
wide market, with biggest energy sources just discovered (BP?) and
our efforts (ethanol, windmills and sunpower) are a politicians joke.
BTU's have largely replaced gold for internationalional trading denominator.

once upon a time I told my old aunts "investment c ouncellor" (as I
converted her bonds to oil trusts) - I have more confidence in the
purchasing powere of West Texas Crude than I have in the "good
faith and credit of the US Gove." - His startled reply, " you must
be a Republican!" - told him,"not necessarily, but I knew the power
of a BTU was greater than that of a blowhard politician".

at 92, have worked in science and engineering mostof my life.
At last, we have discoved the unlimited source of coal, oil and
gas, and other "alernative fuels" are a foolish attempt to
replace that which mother nature has provided abundantly.
We DO NEED TO KNOW HOW TO USE IT, AND
tell our politcians to get out of the way
