When I joined Humble Oil and Refining as Chemical Engineer at Baytown, Texas refinery on June 1, 1951, the director of personnel signed me up for the company stock plan where Humble matched your deduction. He commented with a smile, " you'll never have to buy another company's stock. It just keeps going up and up." It's the EXXON Refinery now. If I remember right, oil was about $6/Bbl. Since decisions don't come from the frontal cortex and are emotionally inspired, I don't know why I haven't bought IBM and/or AAPL. They are obviously winners and have a solid future if the world does not explode, implode and regress back to the stone age. I've lost money twice over the last thirty years owning IBM, and Merrill or my broker has never recommended AAPL. Right now I'd probably sell both. Cramer recommends AAPL 20 times a day, so I'll report on IBM. Millions have been spent on research to determine the cause of the underlying cause, auto immune response to one's own tissue, cartilage of joints. I suspect it will be genetic, like the descendants of the long heads that settled early England have Spina Bifida, and the descendants of the round heads don't. Very interesting ! I'm one that believes humans along with Chimpanzees branched off from great apes 7 million years ago, and that most of the chronic debilitating diseases of which we do not know the underlying cause are genetic. Look up Whipple's Disease. Once it was thought to be fatal. The last case I saw in 1961 was cured in three weeks on Tetracyline antibiotics. Somebody might discover you can cure Rheumatoid by removing the appendix in certain genetically susceptible phenotypes. Thanks! GWBJ.

Rheumatoid Arthritis very debilitating and painful disease. I saw one male with early onset get complete remission from Gold shots. Aspiin, Ibuprophens, and the newer anti-inflammatory drugs have a high incidence of gastrointestinal bleeding. I had severe GI Bleed in 1984 after taking two aspirins for a tension headache and my Hemoglobin dropped from 15 to 11. I've seen patients drop to 6 after one Indocin and two aspirin. Eventually the physician resorts to cortico steroids and narcotics and worries about side effects and addiction. I know of no new drug that has improved on this regimen. Since rheumatoid is a lifetime disease, I think the patient should consult a specialist in Rheumatology and be followed by one for life. When I was medical student, the specialists treated it with 4 aspirin every 4 hours. That's 24 aspirin per day. Thanks! GWBJ.
