  • Jamie Dimon picks up 500K shares of JPMorgan Chase (JPM) - about $17M worth - according to a late-Friday filing. The moves (by Dimon and his wife and associated trusts) come in combination with selling about $13.5M worth of preferred shares.  [View news story]
Anyone have an opinion on buying the preferred
that was sold? Maybe write some calls against
    the common?

  • "Civilized people don't buy gold," Charlie Munger tells CNBC, prompting a couple of nice replies. From John Defeo, "... they buy 1/3 of the world's silver," referring to The Oracle's 2001 foray into that metal. "When one is fully invested in a fiat currency system both financially and in terms of legacy, you might say (that)," writes Robert Sinn.  [View news story]

  • Apple Earnings Trades: This Is Only A Test [View article]
Rocco me this. My opinion is the MM in
AAPL have had to get massively long the stock.
I feel the total number of puts and calls is shrinking.
As this happens, the MM sells stock to stay flat exposure,
    thus the recent constant selling.

  • You Can Make Money Off Of Apple Without Owning It [View article]
    As the old quote say,
"there are many way to skin a cat"
What you do with it, I don't know.
My trade that seems to be working
is out of the money weekly butterflies.
This week the 585 puts and the 615 calls
If your are wrong, you loose about $1000
    on a ten lot.
Additionally I took off the call 615/625 yesterday
and have short 625 long 635 remaining. This will
    probably go today.

  • Zynga (ZNGA -4.6%) announces it sold 49.4M shares in its secondary offering (insider sales) at $12/share. That's 6.4M shares more than what Zynga officially priced last week, the result of underwriters exercising options to purchase additional shares. All those extra shares may have contributed to today's selloff in Zynga, which closed at $12.29.  [View news story]
This and Groupon has a slight feeling of stocks

  • Apple: Dissecting The Butterfly Trade [View article]
April is an eternity away. Try a weekly out of the money, both

  • Bullish On Apple: Hedging Considerations [View article]
Here is my variation on the idea.
I am long a put and a call butterfly.
They usually cost about a point and I
    use the weeklies.
    With a 585 close I bought the 600/810/620 call
spread and the 575/565/555 put spread.

Either side can go to 10 with a move, and I
never adjust before 3:30 on Friday.

  • How Trading Apple Can Bring Both Rags And Riches [View article]
Sorry to hear of your experience

I have been buying put and call weekly butterflys
that are out of the money by a couple strikes.
No Margin is the big reason.
I can do size and adjust as the week progresses.
One side is usually a winner and I will end up with
deep in the money puts or calls which offset.

I almost never see a comment on a losing position
    on a post. Very brave.
