Only likely scenario is and will be very high inflation or even hyper-inflation which will drive the price of Oil, Gold, Metals and other commodities to the moon.

Here:

Short sales result in a big Tax-bill for the seller as the difference between amount owed and sale amount is considered as an income to the seller by IRS. I believe there is a bill in the work to forgive the same but am not sure if that has been passed.

www.thinkglink.com/Sho...

----------

So in short, short sale is nothing but a gimmick employed by Sellers to price the property so low that the Lender rejects it. And it can then go into foreclosure. That way, the seller avoids the tax bill. Credit score is impacted the same in Foreclosure and Short sales...

homebuying.about.com/o...

so why incur the big Tax bill...

One could argue that why would the seller take all the trouble to try and short-sale and not just walk away if his intentions are to fore-close..., this is something I am still looking an answer for...

BTW, what I am saying about is from an article on about.com but cannot find the link to it...

Tuesday's Action: Sign of a Bottom? http://seekingalpha.com/article/70786-tuesday-s-action-sign-of-a-bottom?source=feed#comment-134909 134909
People like you do not understand what grave a risk our US and world economy is because of stupid over-consuming and under-savings Americans. People like you do not understand what a Trade Deficit is or what owing $3 Trillion dollars to the rest of the world can do to us. People like you do not understand that the rest of the World cannot and will not continue to finance our spendings for ever while they under-consume, save and live within their means.

People like you do not know or understand that the next biggest thing to hit us is over $3.6 trillion in credit card & HELOC debt which the bubble-heads borrowed against their home appreciation which has now seriously depreciated. Either they will simply walk away or simply pay them out of their skin and reduce discretionary spending and cut and trash their cards.

People, seriously there is a very grave problem in our system. I was long till I came across Peter Schiff's Crash Proof. You have to see and listen to some of his videos and how right he has been for the last 2-3 years. Not only he predicted the current crisis but also he was right on how it was going to pan out. He was talking about stagflation 2 years back and how the RE bubble will affect Mortgage banks and Bond insurers and major FIs and that major banks and FI could go solvent which it did if you consider the case of CountryWide, ETrade and Bear Sterns so far. And possibly C, WM and LEH to follow...]]>

The stock's performance must be really hurting especially after phenomenal growth from some $10mil to $11.5mil.

I am neither long nor short on this one though I like the concept. but it is funny, every body who owns stock becomes an Author on Seeking Alpha just to pimp/protect their own interest.

You must be getting some kickback from the pigs at NAR to come up with what you did.

Like GS and MerrillLynch said, home prices are still overvalued by 30-35% in many parts of US. In CA, annual house hold income is around $70k and prices will continue to come down to the affordability levels of 4x (around $280-$300k). Or in other words, prices should come down to 2002-03 levels. Currently they are at 04-05 levels.

And mark this post, they will !]]>

Somewhere in fool's land...
"Oh LDK has signed another contract, wow, that makes it $1.5billion, jeez this company is exploding, I am going to be so rich..." is that right John..., just like the rest, you are so naive.

Oh well, I really hope you guys do not loose your pants on these Chinese scams (recent one STV, ATV, EJ).

As a disclaimer, I am neither long nor short on any of the China stocks. Would love to short, but do not have the stomach for it. I did short JOBS (was another chinese scam back then) once though at $50 for a nice $25 tank like LDK did. LDK, I twice tried to short 100sh at $72 and $79 but canceled the orders. I wish I had not.

BTW, I was so right about the XFML CFO, just check my comments before the IPO started trading...
