Shane Buckner, CFA is the Founder and CEO of NorthState Capital Partners, a private investment firm focused on private equity and real estate investments. Shane has more than twelve years of professional investment experience. Prior to forming NorthState Capital Partners and its affiliated companies, Shane was Vice President and Senior Investment Analyst for Wells Capital Management, the asset management division of Wells Fargo, which managed $365 billion of investments at the time of Shane’s departure. During his career at Wells Capital Management (and/or its predecessor companies), Shane was responsible for the analysis and selection of various fixed income investments in numerous industries and was most recently the Senior Investment Analyst responsible for the real estate industry, including Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Home Building, and Construction and Building Materials & Products. Prior responsibilities include the analysis and selection of investments in various industries including Retail & Restaurants, Manufacturing & Industrial, Energy, Oil & Gas, Consumer Products, Paper & Packaging, Banking and Financial Institutions, as well as others. While at Evergreen Investments (a predecessor company to Wells Capital Management), Shane was instrumental in establishing the company’s international investment research capabilities in London as well as analyzing international investment opportunities. Shane’s investment opinions have been cited in The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, Bloomberg News, Dow Jones Newswires, as well as other publications. Shane holds a BS in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, and is a licensed commercial real estate broker. Shane is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA North Carolina Society, and the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors.
