    Potentially useful and scalable technology.

It could end up being the 21st century asbestos.

I have used PayPal for well over decade without any glitches. I prefer it where available, since you can use multiple accounts, debit card or credit card, through the PayPal system, and choose which account at the time of the transaction. Thus keeping business-related transactions in a separate account, never exposing your CC info to a site you are new to. It gives me confidence to order online from places I would otherwise avoid.

The only concern I ever recall from my years using PP is when some crooks used phishing emails to try to get you to sign on to their fake site with your credentials. PayPal alerted users immediately when it was detected, and the emails looked fishy anyway when I got one.

Can't even think about precious metals at the moment. I'm more worried about precious salt!

No driveway salt to be found in my area for less than $30/bag. Four foot icicles and the ice piling up on my front steps.

And another 2-4 inchs of the wet and nasty snow and rain tomorrow on top of our current pack of 18 inches of snowcrete.

Praying to Algore and the gods of global warming for relief.

The limestone Karst geography that gives rise to the spectacular Kentucky Bluegrass on which thoroughbreds thrive, and in which the most exquisite caves grow over the eons, also means the seemingly solid ground is really a Swiss cheese beneath your feet in much of that region of the country.

"In my yute" (as HTL likes to say) I rode those beautiful beasts and crawled around in those magnificent caverns as hobbies.

It gives you a different view of the depth and complexity of our natural world to walk beneath it and view the effects of millions of years of the cycle of water and climate acting on the earth's crust. Humbling and inspiring of the majesty of the forces tht have built our world.

But looking at the forecast, there is another 4-8 inches to come overnight, and temp will drop back to 26, so the wet concrete will set up hard. Oh joy.

Been a honkin nasty day of a storm here ni NY's backyard. At least twelve inches of dry snow, followed by rain that turned it all to something the conistency of wet cement.

No problem getting out to work today with my xDrive, it's like a sled dog on the dry snow. But coming home this evening it was quite sloppy, even with major roads plowed, but the x3 was a champ. Until it got to the end of my little cul-de-sac road, where no plowing had occurred, and the snow was deeper than the axles. Then it wallowed like a pig stuck in mud. Had to back out and park on the main street, so the plows would be able to get in overnight.

But at least we have had no power outages.

Started a position in (TTPH) today, when it dipped to 13.50.

    Extremely oversold, W%R 99.72.

Promising antibiotic technology, with eravacycline in Phase III trials now. http://bit.ly/1lK0Xq5

I think I mentioned it a few months ago as one to watch.
