  • Canadian Energy Trusts: The Best Long Term Income and Dollar Hedge? (Part 2) [View article]
I'd love to know what Cliff thinks of BP. As a previous owner of many Canroys, I've slowly been getting out of them and switching to MLP's. But BP is paying a very handsome dividend. A lot of BP is natural gas though, and that worries me.

  • The High Dividend Stock Investor's Collapsing Dollar Survival Guide, Part 3 [View article]
I own several of these stocks; have owned Atlantic Power for years, and the dividends just keep rolling in monthly. It doesn't matter to me that the price has been fluctuating; I've just bought more when it goes down.

Recently bought T and VZ paying over 6% quarterly. They both are well captialized; the dividends appear solid, and people are not going to stop using wireless phones.

  • Three Top Canadian Royalty Trusts [View article]
HTE and PWE are big enough and strong enough to maintain their dividends for some time. HTE also has a refinery. Since the price of oil is down, refinery costs are down, providing protection for the investor.

I own numerous Canroys. I believe they will come back, but I sold my PVX. It has done nothing but drop even when oil prices were still high. Instead, I've bought MLP's. ETP, EPD, PVR and NSH. NS and NSH both are infrastructure plays...production of asphalt. They are going to need a lot of asphalt for those roads Obama is going to build.
