  • Why It Will Take Years For Uni-Pixel To Reach Production, If Ever, Meanwhile Executives Will Still Get Rich [View article]
Sorry I wrote this in a hurry. The second paragraph should read the EN plating of Copper (not nickel).

  • Why It Will Take Years For Uni-Pixel To Reach Production, If Ever, Meanwhile Executives Will Still Get Rich [View article]
    Come on Richard,

Harper makes an analox roll with less than 3% porosity. This roll is plasma lased with approximately 10 nanometers tolerance. That is nearly three orders of magnitude to get line width and dot density onto raised areas and to coat with chromium and still keep the line width at 5 microns. Harper is not the only company that is capable of this either; Coors and Dupont are both making tremendous advances in porcelain as well.

Copper can be plated with EN (electroless nickel). EN plating of nickel is achieved in an acid environment typically using HCl or Sulfuric acid and PD or Ru are used as catalysts to initiate the reaction. Aminoborane and/or borohydrate nickel is used as reducing agents to change the charge on nickel so that there is atomic distribution onto the copper. UNXL may have had trouble plating copper with EN initially because they might have been trying to use hypophosphite nickel as a reducing agent or they had trouble finding an appropriate acid that would not etch the PET. Fortunately PET is very resistant to many acids. UNXL may also have run into a block because sometimes an initial charge must be applied to the copper to initiate the catalytic reaction. According to UNXL, whatever the problem was, it has been solved.

One other point. Mr Gevhart pointed out in his last article that the achievement of 2 microns width is a game changer in this space. He asked how UNXL can possibly compete with that? Well, Resistance raises to the square of the inverse of line width. In other words, a thinner line generates more resistance which translates to shorter battery life. A 2 micron line width has roughly 6 times the resistance of 5 microns. The difference in optical clarity is also negligible between 2 and 5 microns line width.

I am just quietly accumulating shares.

This will get really interesting within the next five weeks.

No way do I want to miss out on the fun.

Thanks to RxR for his interesting discussions on Flexo Printing, analox rolls and electroless plating. You actually gave me some good direction in my DD. Although I have never carried a short position, my opinion is that soon UNXL and Kodak will be able to scale up manufacturing successfully and I have invested accordingly.

Articles like these combined with hedge fund bear raids give me an opportunity to pick up shares cheaper. Perhaps Mr. Gefvert is correct in his assessment, but it is pretty obvious that he has no engineering or manufacturing background therefore it is like listening to a lot of hot air and is difficult to give him much credibility. At least RxR has considerable knowledge on the science and process; however, after researching low porosity ceramic analox rolls, flexo printing and Copper-Nickel EN plating tech my conclusions differ from his as well.

  • Uni-Pixel Claims Victory With 3 Purchase Orders [View article]
    Thanks Chris,

Good to see you contributing on UNXL again.

Lowered capital expenditures and operational costs combined with a product that clearly outperforms ITO puts UniPixel in a great position. It is believed that the capital expenditures are one full order of magnitude cheaper than ITO. ITO also becomes exponentially more expensive to produce with the size of the product; InTouch is linear. That is why I would not be surprised to see a Samsung JV announcement in the near future. Samsung is having trouble with suppliers keeping up with demand. A JV partnership with UNXL would give them a clear advantage at least in the touchscreen arena.

  • Bear Of The Day: Uni-Pixel [View article]
I understand how this works. Hedge funds are in this stock 5M shares short. Somehow they want to cover because the risk of this stock making incredible gains in the very near future is starting to make some of these guys not sleep very well at night.

There are plenty of week hands that will sell when they read drivel like this. It may drive the PPS down a couple of percent. Then some of the hedge funds can cover and ride the PPS back up when production officially begins which is in the next couple weeks.

Good luck to your short holding hedge fund friends. They will need it very soon.

  • Uni-Pixel: Why You Should Sell Like The Insiders [View article]
Why did Reed Killion not sell any shares? Why did he buy shares on the open market? Is he not considered an insider?

By the way a new trade mark application is already been filed. It's not hard to find. Even you could have found it with a minor search. The formal announcement obviously has not been made, I imagine it is being tied up in legal.

This article is obviously put together by a hedge fund trying to drive the price of the stock down to cover a short position and then ride the stock back up with anticipated news. Spreading FUD is cheaper than using an HFT bot to drive the price down hitting the bid with 100 share trades. I don't mind this because it allows me to pick up shares cheaper on the dip. The hard part is that 4.7M shares are in a short position right now. That will get a bit crowded as these positions are covered.

    That's "graduating from college."
Also "Have been significantly expanding my coverage universe, too." is a fragment. Maybe you should go to an accredited school next time.

If you want to throw insults and feel that is the way to make a point then I will stoop to your level.

    Ashraf,

There are 4.7M short shares holding UNXL right now which is essentially 50% of the entire float. I get the feeling that you are one of them. Sentiment is pretty bullish on this stock right now. The delay in Windows 8.1 is no longer an issue and UNXL should be receiving a PO within the next 6 weeks. When UNXL announces a PO, what will happen when 4.7M shares are being covered at once?

There is a chance of more delays and that UNXL will fail to receive orders but the odds of that grow fewer every day. I have been holding a long position for a couple years on this stock so I can weather the volatility without too much pain.

UNXL stock got ahead of itself there is no doubt. It is oversold right now and you can see the increase in bullish sentiment growing as we speak. Just check out any message board. In my opinion, it is far more dangerous holding a short position on that stock right now.

TSLA is not a "bubble." There will be a correction in PPS that should be seen soon. However, I think that its business model is strong and that it has a product that will continue to grow revenue for a long time. I don't hold a position in this company but I don't believe that I would short it either.

Good luck with your short positions.

  • Uni-Pixel May Be Mounting A Comeback [View article]
Kodak is actually planning on incorporating AgX solutions into UniBoss products in 2014. That's the great thing about UniBoss is that the tech is expandable.

  • ExOne: The Quiet Before The Storm [View article]
There has been a growing short interest by hedge funds. This is only the start. to think otherwise would be naïve. The current short holdings are 2.4 million and shorts are getting harder to come by.

I happen to agree with this article though. XONE is so far ahead of itself it's crazy. I will get in after the hedgies do some work on this stock. I think the retrace is going to be rather large and could even see low $20's before it's all done.

Never underestimate hedge funds with a large short interest. I have learned that the hard way.

  • Musings On Minneapolis: Uni-Pixel Is Moving... Backwards [View article]
Nice diatribe. You must be pretty desperate to cover. This stock is very oversold right now as it stands and will probably not go too much lower. If it does I will be adding hand over fist.

Kodak has over 50 years in perfecting PET manufacture. Their materials and printing expertise will aid enormously in the production of UniBoss. Right now UNXL is producing 70% yields and will get to 80% easily with Kodaks help. If you doubt this, do a little research on Kodak's materials division or their printed electronics division. They are most impressive.

UNXL is years ahead of everyone else in roll to roll, inexpensive printed circuitry. Combined with Kodak, UNXL could easily get 10+% of the total available touch screen market in the next 2-3 years. UniBoss can also be utilized in other applications as well, such as CMOS, TMOS, LED, etc.

I'm not so certain that I would bet against UNXL, especially now that they are partnered with Kodak; Kodak brings a lot more to the table than most realize.

  • UniPixel: What's The Deal? [View instapost]
Thanks for this take. RK did recently mention that a secondary would only be used if it was beneficial to the shareholder. Rapidly ramping production will definitely benefit the shareholder and will really set a lot of people's minds at ease about execution. I look forward to seeing what will happen in the next several weeks and months.

  • Uni-Pixel Has Ballooned From Hype, Not A Better Technology [View article]
Don't take my word for it because I'm just a nobody investor. However, google "Kevin Douglas greatest unknown investor" and see what comes up.

Kevin Douglas currently holds 750,000 shares of UNXL. If he files a sec form showing that he has sold his shares as a result of this article, I will do the same.

Honestly, Adam you and your hedge fund are in pretty deep. Good luck.
