Facebook Home Is A Disaster, But Is It A Catastrophe? [View article]
I find FB, not just FB Home, interface awful--compared to what it should be. There is a certain rigidity to the the design, which is obviously, at least to me, anit-user. Youtube interface, imo, is also crap. The article--thanks much for it!--points out the issue of an interface designed with the corporation's--not the user's--benefit as the priority. Theyr not mutaully exclusive, but the benefits to the corporation need to be observedand extracted under the auspices of the user's interfacing needs ALWAYS being prioritized.

Thanks much for the article. Very useful! I read Bowler's well-presented article, and tho it was provocative it brawt up an important issue, at least for me--how low did you get in at? If you get in low enuf, and the company is great, or good (and not necessarily GOOD), hold on to it, and ignore those numbers. IMO, most reactive changeroos will result in a wash, at best.
Good points Khan. Adding, I think MJ went much farther than nonreliance on copper. It is a very different "plug n play" device, more than other VOIP services, and I have used about 5. First, MJ works, out of the box. Second (but not all there is to setting MJ apart), cheap customer service: when something does go bad customer service, located somewhere over the rainbow-- no get me wrong, customer service will get you thru your issue, but by using live chat msging. MJ has tek no other company I've used has. It is, however, unlike other VOIPS I used, feature-free, more or less. (No callblocking, limited caller ID, etc)
Thanks for the excellent article. I am not sure if the author has, however, a telecom ax to grind. For me, with my expectations appropriately companded, MJ is a very impressive investment. Maybe the best I ever made. call blocking? Well, I'll leave that to a feature built into a fone I can get at Costco. MJ, on the other hand, represents a familiar problem I see in the stock market--a very good business goes "public", for no reason other than to feed the greed of the owners--it's not a good stock investment, but is a great buy as a fone service, esp. for those of us who don't do fone much (like back when we had more pals, boohoo).
