  • Build An Intelligent REIT Portfolio Without Mortgage REIT Risk [View article]
Off topic, but let's not get all uncled up. "Howard Marks (another "Uncle Fred") --"another Uncle Frank:, is what the author meant, I think.

That is a good point! Guessing, as you mention, that there aren't that many houses offline, factored as a percent of, say, PEG or ED accounts

  • Successful Human Trials Of Star Scientific's Anatabloc Clarifies Risk And Could Drive Share Price [View article]
Thanks for the post. This product interests me. It is good that there is a sucraloseless tablet, because the foolish formulation for the lozenge seemed to demand, to someone on the Star team, that peep don't care what goes into their bodies. Stevia wouda been the best choice for sweetening. What I find most interesting about the product is that TOBACCO, once forever maligned, may yet turn into a hero. One main problem mite be that plants from the night-shade group are often avoided for fear they will exacerbate arthritis--and how might nightshades do that--you guessed it, by causing inflammation (allergic response). Research, on my part, mite reveal that Star Scientific has addressed this--it's significant, IMO. Also, woud wonder if source of anabatine can come from an other nightshade, such as potato, pepper, or eggplant.

  • Sense And Nonsense About Climate Change. What Do Investors Need To Know? [View article]
Repeat: ANY anti-global warming measures taken, however futile for reducing global warming, will benefit everyone, right and left. There is a net cost to the planet for producing every scrap of food, every BTU of whatever fuel. There is no "renewable resource", just resources seem to be, because they are more plentiful than others (solar radiation v.s oil). There is no "neutral" biodynamic cycle that resets itself to "square one". If nothing else the GW issue will eventually result in more peep understanding the true "cost of living".

  • Sense And Nonsense About Climate Change. What Do Investors Need To Know? [View article]
Excellent article, and very different from the usual at SA. It's no secret the reactionaries are "against" global warming, cough, I mean, climate change, but not one of "them", nor any of "us", will fail to benefit from ANY measure in slowing this geo-shift--resulting in cleaner air, water, soil, water. As always with "investing", Main Street and Wall Street are as polarized as the Tea Party and the Tree Huggers, poles which can be only incidentally reconciled, for never the twain shall meet.

Thanks for the article. Very interesting info, and subject. Made me ponder: I think the biggest threat to MCD is not yet another burger joint, but the burgeoning healthy foods movement.
