  • Bank Of America: The Bank To Bank On? [View article]
The reason I see for buying BAC are rising interest rates and the belief that you are getting the Merrill Lynch business at a discount. I have my kids donating their McDonald's checks to building a position. Eldest son has 300 shares. I figure they have time and might get a nice dividend in the future.

  • 10 Reasons Why Every Serious Investor Should Read Barrons [View article]
If there is no problems then how can you know "they readily extend our subscription?" For the record they did that for me as well but then didn't deliver again and again. I just let the subscription run out. I would go on about my concern that Willow Street Investments is using Barron's for their financial road map but anyone that knows and names off The Ramones is all right by me.

  • 10 Reasons Why Every Serious Investor Should Read Barrons [View article]
Had a subscription to Barron's and could not get the magazine delivered consistently and I live in Virginia not out in the wilderness of Alaska. Is this article a paid commercial for Barron's magazine? The only articles I really enjoyed were the articles related to various money managers and their picks with the explaining of why they supported the stock. Based on my experience I don't believe Barron's magazine is any more accurate than other stock pickers, except maybe Jim Cramer. And as far as running a service oriented magazine with it being delivered, on time to the correct address it is very lacking.

  • The Xbox One will cost a hefty $499 when it goes on sale in 21 markets in November, says Microsoft (MSFT -1.1%). Though that price includes a bundled Kinect, it could be tough for some gamers to swallow, given the 360 (no Kinect included) currently goes for $200 (4GB flash) and $300 (250GB hard drive). The early reaction on Twitter isn't favorable. Microsoft is also showing off 13 exclusive launch titles at E3, and says a new Halo title will arrive next year. This has flop written all over it. Bad price point, mandate of being on internet, not being able to sell used games, console spying on you to ensure you have proper license to view material. I have purchased three X-box 360 due to having children. Will not be purchasing this product.
