Hi Thanks for the answer!!! Quick question why would the options be hard to manage or implement on vxx? I was thinking of buying jan 2015 15 strike put costs 3.85 and average down if I need to not invest all at one time because I realize it will move in big swings . Do you see flaws in the approach? Thanks for your time!!!

Thanks for the article. When I look at the charts and with contango it is hard to not invest a large portion of funds in svxy or xiv or puts in vxx. How can you lose in the long run on these, That is a real question how can you. I realize on options the premium is high but easily made up the way these products move. You would have to hang in there during rough times but it really seems the way these are set up if you do not panic you could make out. Am I not seeing something? Thanks

Thanks! Can you explain how that could happen? If you buy a leap put and the price keeps falling and they have to do numerous reverse splits you could loose money. It seems like that is just not fair. Are you saying in a strong bull market leap puts on uvxy could loose money if there are to many reverse splits. I was looking at the Jan 2015 put on uvxy for .40 cents and to just hold it for the long term and if I get a opportunity to add more contracts I would. I thought with the time frame I have with this even if some event that made the vix futures spike overtime contango would always make this trade profitable because of the time frame. Thanks for the info!!!!

Hi Thanks for the article!!! Why not just buy leap puts on all of these types of trades. I realize the premium is high but with patience it seems like it would be a great investment. Can you tell me the risks of doing that. Also what happen to your shares when you hold a put on this(reverse split). If it happened a couple times over the life of the option seems the amount of share I would own could get very low. Thanks just trying to learn!!!

Hi Thanks for the article. What are the risks in just buying svxycall leap options (jan 2015) or uvxy leap puts (jan 2015) I realize the premium is high but with that time it seems with contango you would have a great chance for profits. Or do you think buying xiv and averaging down when the vix rises would be better? Just trying to learn. Thanks
