  • The Obvious Case For Buying Apple [View article]
Really an excellent analysis. One that I could not have done. Good comment about GS and price targets. Confirms that I think this stocks is a good value at current prices. Thanks.

  • Apple: Mac Sales Growth Driven By China In The June Quarter [View article]
Great article. I do agree with virtually everything you said at a high level. Valuations for any stock are difficult to compare. Apple is one of those that certainly "should" trade higher so I do agree with Icahn to a point. The thing is I believe the really big money from fund managers/private equity groups have their long positions on in Apple and need more certainty to add. So, they add gradually as TC & Co. buy back shares somewhat forcing their hand to add but slowly. What I really like about your comments is you nailed the areas that Apple is going into like the IOS system being the glue for all devices Apple, the Apple TV going head-on to cable, content and AT&T buying Direct TV. There is smoke there & we will see fire in the near future. The Apple car which is still a reach for me but the "auto operating system" could certainly tie all the Apple devices into it. Maybe a collaboration with an auto manufacturer is more plausible but I like the car move. I will stop here but this is big stuff so thanks for the "pump me up" article. Like I needed i!!

  • Apple's Debt-Funded Repurchases: Terrific Or Terrible? [View article]
Great article and one of the best of late. Good explanation of share BB using foreign bonds. Just an all around heart thumper for Apple stock. Too many investors do not understand how over traded apple options are and cause long call owners to sell at a loss in big volumes. Spec delight until they puke. Absent that comment you provide rational reasons to run with this one. Thanks.

  • The Jony Ive Promotion [View article]
Change is good and also a constant thing. All companies "need" to adapt to new things like in tech or people or just the world environment. Great article. Give credit to Tim Cook for doing this and getting the message out that the company gives space to talented people to perform. It also allows other people to "grow" into new challenges and produce. Really good management at Apple.

  • Apple Watch: What Are The Margins? [View article]
Great article and thanks for this analysis. I must admit I read this quickly through to get to the margins. So, sales are now what is important and the volume for what period. I understand that Apple ordered 5 million watches to start. Not sure of the mix but I am trying to fathom the bottom line addition by quarter. The release date is late April so actually only one month plus presales will hit the 3rd quarter P&L. Estimate Apple to sell 10 million watches by the end of Sept'15 or FY 2015. Estimate the sales mix: WS 40%-W 40%-WE 20%( for those that just must have something new and expensive). Somebody else do the math.......gotta go.

  • Do Apple's New iPhones Initiate Peak Android? [View article]
Short answer is yes. New phones bigger and capture a bigger mkt share from the Far East and elsewhere and it just keeps growing. First quarter was not a one time event. 2nd quarter likely to surprise due to same reason: big portion of phone mkt likes bigger phones and AAPL OS. It "builds" usage of "all things Apple." They are now in the sweet spot for consumer electronics and riding the wave. I Like!

And then HomeKit. On your wrist while you are away from home but you still "connected" to your home. Outstanding!

  • Apple Watch ASPs: Poll Reveals A Hint [View article]
Seems to me that the Iwatch will "build" integration from and to the Iphone 6 and 6+. The Ecosystem that Apple is building is bringing to all of these functions and APPS for developers to create. TC just commented at the Goldman Sachs conference that the Iwatch will be incredibly diverse and capable of doing so many things. I opened this door here so others can show us how much more they "know" or "think" that will come with the IWatch. I do believe that it will open the door for great medical tracking of individual information via the Iwatch to the Iphone 6/6+ and then into a medical database. One of the "wow" events to come. I think!

  • Apple Earnings Preview: Prelude To A Year Of Remarkable Growth [View article]
Good comments, all. Think the major reason for Apple not being higher already is that the entire stock market/investment attitude is generally more cautious as the Fed telegraphs higher interest rates it is a maybe or later. Sends the message to be ready for some diversification to bonds etc. So, they do not overweight too soon, wait to see results and not speculate, or do not buy "as much". Get long but keep some powder dry to buy if the insane sell it down $5 and give us a gift. We all can only say so much for so long until you just wait for the shoe to drop. Very bullish for the year 2015.

  • Apple: A Victim Of Its Own Success? [View article]
Think $120 is "too high" at ER. At $110 I think it is a great entry point and sustainable based on estimated sales. The second quarter is the one that supports with guidance. I think we will see that guidance support the back log of Iphone 6/6+, App$, Iwatch rollout, etc. Your caution is right on for all to see and be aware. Far too many rabid bulls get this overbought and get their teeth kicked in because they did not listen to the numbers. Good job.

  • Setting Up Apple's Amazing 2015 [View article]
Good article, Mark. I ALWAYS read your articles because they are sound. A comment on stock price from over 30 years of pure trading of almost everything . "Money flow" is the key today. It is huge by any measure and creates gyrations in stocks by large volumes because there is a huge amount of dollars being moved around quickly in short periods of time like days or 1-3 months. As the Fed "talks" the shut down of bond purchases, and then recently leaves that door open, they test the market's reaction. It affects Apple stock price and others by creating millions of shares of sales AND buys. As we end 2014 with the Dow around 18,000 people will think we cannot go that much higher. That leaves Apple stock as a potentially large winner in a short list of fairly certain candidates. Consumer spending is growing and Apple enjoys that segment of the consumer goods spending in tech that is a real winner. With your comments of Apple integrating and innovating their product lines it is likely a better winner of positive money flow than even I thought not long ago. The stars are aligned for it to rise but the world is in a constant state of change and there is no certainty. But, for me, there is a good percentage chance of success with Apple than with the Dow average. It should outperform....Ithink(new Apple product?).

  • Apple Analysis: Free Versus Levered Free Cash Flow [View article]
Stock prices reflect the future expectation for the company to sell products and make profits. Looking backwards gives the facts and projections forward is what drives a stock to its current value. Earnings projections for FY'15 and FY'16 reflect expectations of value and drives the stock buyback program. Apple management is usually conservative in their expectations of future revenue and does not leap out and announce huge buyback programs without some reasonable expectation of the sales volume of all future product upgrades or new releases. All of this drives the buyback programs as well as their cash flow. Good article but a bit more could have been said with confidence about Apples expectations for future growth driving current $$ being spent on stock buybacks. Their new product releases and upgrades are very carefully timed to smooth out sales and revenues.

  • Apple: Mac Prospects December Quarter [View article]
Great article. The "golden nugget" I was looking for was a greater expan$ion into enterprise business for Apple. You did do that but could have made it a little more INCREDIBLE. I think it is. You touched on it and let the reader figure it out which is fine. With IBM and mobile apps along with an upgraded Mac are we not on the verge of a potentially huge "surprise" for Apple in enterprise sales? Seems to me we are but I defer to you.

  • Apple: A Pullback To Strongly Consider [View article]
Very much agree with your article. Several replies sound like people are struggling with current stock prices at sub $110. It is a buy by any measure here. You detailed it and did it very well. Add to the current environment the rebalancing of dollars and year-end % performance measures that funds will advertise for the end of the year. They are simply locking up large annual gains over the past 10 trading days. Fund selling, ETF selling all contribute to selling Apple as part of a large portfolio of stocks. Just dollars finding safety for what I expect will be some good buying of stocks in the early New Year. Just a different view of the reasons Apple went down $10 and is a very good stock to have in a portfolio right now. What I think.

  • Is It Time To Short Apple? [View article]
Just saw this. Good comments. AAPL right now $110.30 so close enough to say decent entry point for a likely gain over whatever time frame. May not be the bottom but it is Friday and not bad time. My position, gains, are very similar to yours and I also agree with your targets and time lines. Think Iwatch will add to the momentum.
