Thanks for the post on SA. I was present at the presentation, and appreciated the fact that Mr. Hu, the CEO of Kandi, answered all questions, through lunch, and past the scheduled end of the presentation, until there were no further questions. There were several translators present, in the audience as well as on the panel with Mr. Hu, which I believe facilitated the communication of information and its accuracy. I also appreciated that Kandi's counsel, rather than being passive, was willing to clarify and expand on the discussion, and their contribution was additive to the discussion. I look forward to more presentations as this one, which really is an effective way to give shareholders, especially in a Chinese company, a direct and face-to-face opportunity to get misunderstanding and ambiguity cleared up. An event such as this and the way it was conducted, would be unthinkable for any major US corporation.

Again, you're missing the point. In the USA it certainly IS all about building the "best" EV vehicle, with the "best" battery, with it going further on a single charge than a competitor, with only minimal passing regard to the cost or HOW it's recharged or its impact on how it fits into a national energy plan, given the audience that it's directed at... TSLA is certainly headed down that path, and trying to make a go of it...BUT that is not what Mr. Konrad, Mr. Peterson or the recent issue of EV World that featured a long article on Kandi Technologies is focusing on... Whether you like the Chinese political regime or not, they are NOT looking for manufacturers to the build the vehicle described above; rather they are working to get vehicles, like Kandi's, that makes sense for the vast number of its people, and that is compatible with a desired minimal impact on their grid and the environment.

The upcoming (Aug 10-12) Hangzhou Chinese International Green Vehicle Industry Expo where Kandi will have a dominant presence, is an example of what is being talked about. They won't be talking about whose EV goes the furthest or has the sexiest model...

There's plenty of due diligence resorces out there... the Kandi Private Discussion Forum at http://bit.ly/OhDfjD is a way many investors are getting information, often difficult because much of the information comes from the Chinese press and internet sites. "I just have one question for the readers: by looking at the pictures in Konrad’s article, which car would you choose: Tesla or Kandi?"

With all due respect, that is a silly question, a typical question by an American. (1) Millions of Chinese to whom Kandi's efforts (and that of the Chinese government) are focused, are not "readers" of Seeking Alpha; they can barely afford a bicycle, let alone the hood ornament of a TSLA. Clearly Kandi is marketing to a different audience from TSLA, so of course the cars are dramatically different. (2) You're missing the point if you think Kandi's efforts are just about selling EV's; they have a patented QBE (quick battery exchange) which is part of a comprehensive effort on the part of the Chinese government to introduce mass inexpensive transportation that does not further enhance pollution and does not overwhelm its energy grid (such as a "traditional" EV that has its battery recharged by being plugged in by the consumer or at a battery recharge station).

Hangzhou is not Los Angeles, Shandong province is not the New York metro area. Time for Americans and others in the Western World to stop looking at the world from their perspective, and start taking the time and putting in the effort to understand the needs of countries that have the imagination, resources and will to come up with a comprehensive energy solution, something sadly the US government just can't get around to... the TSLA vehicles may well be excellent automobiles for the middle and upper middle class in the US (and wealthy Chinese); but what's good for the US, isn't necessarily good for the rest of the world...time Americans took the time to understand that...their taken for granted reality that they've internalized, can be a dangerous blindfold when comparing hood ornaments.

China plans to subsidize the development of pure-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in the nation to reduce the nation's dependence on oil and cut emissions. The State Council's public goal of seeing 5M alternative-energy vehicles produced by 2020, blows away previous estimates and sets the prize high for a company able to knock out a technological breakthrough in the industry. EV-related plays include F,GM, TSLA, NSANY.OB, AVAV, ECTY, GACR.PK, KNDI, HMC, JCI, NRG, ZAAP.OB, VLKAY, and AONE.

Anyone who has done any due diligence knows there is only one company on that list that is presently situated to succeed. It is not enough to produce EV's, you need the political Chinese connections, the endorsement of the Chinese government, it has to be a Chinese company not a foreign entity, it has to have patents covering its technology, it has to have a vision that goes beyond "selling cars". And for credibility, it has to be recognized in the Chinese press, but listed on an American exchange. And the price point and use of EV battery technology has to reflect the needs of the Chinese people, not what your typical American has in their mind...

The company starts with "K"... but if you've done your due diligence, real due diligence, you'd know that...That the company has been busy executing rather than issuing fluff press releases, may not make it a household name, but what's important is what the Chinese government wants, and who it chooses... My op

Einhorn goes Jim Chanos on China, saying the country views Western investors as marks. It's infrastructure is overbuilt, the roads are empty, the houses unsold. Other than owning U.S. companies that may sell there, he's staying out (h/t Josh Brown). More from Einhorn.

The markets are facing a cathartic moment, and heading for "dire straits," warns economist Steen Jakobsen. This European liquidity crisis could bring equity market declines of 20% to 30%, even before the December 9 European Union summit. But from that, Steen says, there will be tremendous opportunity for returns over the next 16 to 20 months as we emerge from the crisis and the end of the downward cycle approaches.
