  • Darden Restaurants misses by $0.10, misses on revenue [View news story]
Whut?! You mean to say that the huge growth in the fifth recovery summer doesn't translate to a galloping middle class ready to spend? Whocouldanode higher taxes, medical premiums, petrol increases, and stagnant wages don't equal disposable income for restaurants.

  • Market Crash?: Why I Would Love One [View article]
CL is like the rock of Gibraltar. I bought in the last dip at 63. MMM might fall quite a bit in a correction which is the company I'd like most. JNJ, CVX... A guy can dream can't he?

Porch - that's the startup to look at in this space.

  • Tesla Motors knocking on $200-per-share door [View news story]
I'm anxious to own TSLA but by all measurements this price is so far out of whack I wouldn't get near it. Love the car company and even visited the nearest boutique but until they get the Model X revenues coming in I absolutely won't be a buyer.

  • Procter & Gamble: A Dividend Growth Champ Now On Sale [View article]
I pulled the trigger the other day on CL instead of PG in spite of PG's better PE. PG is certainly on the watch list, however, for me Colgate's investments in EM economies have higher growth potential. For example, when travelling in Latin America, 'Colgate' in the areas I went to was used interchangeably with the same local word for toothpaste. I wasn't in touristy areas either so it shows the depth (at least where I was) of market penetration.

No qualms with PG, I just chose otherwise.

"Growth slows"? As if there was any organic growth to begin with! Long Beanie Baby's and canned food.

  • Wal-Mart warns on profits [View news story]
WMT is one big corporate wellfare baby. They pay the kids that work there peanuts and benefit from the .gov foodstamp program more than anything - by having both their employees AND average customers being reliant on .gov for their Cheetos and Mountain Dew.

  • Lowe's Prospects Are Dimming [View article]
No mention of Woolworths partnership in Australia or ATG online? Long LOW for housing play. HD had to shutter a lot of stores worldwide in '09, not the case with Lowe's.

  • Job gains of 203K; unemployment dives to 7% [View news story]
47 million Americans on food stamps - what bread lines!? This number looks as goosed as the one the BLS gave right before 2012 elections. I'm not bearish at all because any baby-taper will later be reversed with additional billions added.

  • Yellen clearly best qualified for job, says Evans-Pritchard [View news story]
"Administrations" don't matter if they're populist liars trying to buy votes like Bush or Barry. The American on mainstreet has been in a malaise for years, something academics like Bennie or Yellen cannot understand. The worst part is paying for these idiots and a bloated .gov police state via tax dollars!

  • Goldman: Selling gold a "slam dunk" [View news story]
Food stamp participation in US: greater than population of Spain. Disability participation in US: greater than population of Greece. Record BRIC gold inflows and a nonfunctioning .gov police state drowning in debt and fighting bilateral swap agreements among developing economies? Yeah now is a great time to sell gold to the Squid!

Apple = Palm. Remember the Treo 680? Cheaper than the standard Treo but came in 4 colors! I kid you not this is what happens when innovation dies.

  • Dollar General higher following earnings, peers on watch [View news story]
Well no kidding DG beat comps. Everyone in our new-normal economy either shops at Saks/Burberry or DG/WMT. All those part time 29.5 hour jobs need someplace to buy the Cheetos and Faygo, right?

  • U.S. could go it alone in attack on Syria after U.K. rejection [View news story]
Of course a criminal government would be willing to go in alone. It sure didn't stop W those years ago. This is all about petro-dollar protection and natural gas for Europe by way of Qatar.
