  • Balchem: Small Company, Big Profits [View article]
I bought BCPC just over a year ago (near it's all-time) high. Everything I read about the company is good, but I invested at the wrong time. It was my mistake, being a new investor. My main goal was to invest in a quality company. I DID that, but at the wrong time.

  • Strategy For Reducing Impact Of Taxes On Dividend Stocks [View article]
My income is $17,000 a year depending on dividend income. A large part of my assets are in dividend income. ALL these previous posts are from extremely high-income earners. I invest in the stock market because my income is low, and I hope to make a better return than 2%. Come on, posters, just REALIZE, than not every person has the same capacity to increase their wealth. You are a part of the "1 percent". You won't ever, but I'll ask you anyway, "please grow up".

  • More Pain Ahead for Solar Stocks [View article]
FSLR is a good company with growth prospects. I would rather see an article about why the entire solar energy fell, including ALL the possibilities: the European crisis, the competition from competitors in China, price subsidies in other countries. Stock prices for strong solar companies will climb back up. I know that FSLR will climb back up but not when. I only wish that I could buy more at this incredibly cheap price.

  • Buy Zones: 5 Dividend Stocks Retirees Should Buy On A Pullback [View article]
Sorry to be a "prude", but a tobacco stock is the ONLY stock I would never buy, no matter what the price. Owning a tobacco stock is a matter of "morality". Do you know "right from wrong"? The USA has a lot of worldwide problems, but pushing this product on the rest of the world to put money in its own pockets, is definitely one of the worst. Buy stocks and support companies that produce products that are good for people all over the world. When America produces products that kill, and ships them all over the world, is it any different from a direct invasion because of WMD?

  • Does Real Estate or Gold Have a Brighter Future? [View article]
I love the article and loved reading all the comments. I had a friend, now deceased, who bought gold bars 40 or 50 years ago. She and her husband buried them in the backyard, waited a very long time, and sold them not too long ago for a huge profit.
When I was teaching California history in 1993, gold was about $400/ounce. Even at the outrageous prices of gold today, sellers have to be able to find a buyer who is expecting prices to still go up. At some point the gold market will reach a point where there are no more buyers available. Might we have reached that point now?

  • Implications of Investors' Flight to Safety [View article]
You forgot to mention just WHERE this safety can be found. I had a large CD mature a month ago, and have put it in a money market. This was after months of research, including talking to a financial consultant, of how to invest the money. Hanging on to what I've got, rather that losing it, some seems my only option.
