BlackBerry And Carl Icahn: Time For A Short Squeeze? [View article]
Poorly run? They are profitable, lean and mean (Marcap). With so many reasons for Ichan to get in the middle. I can see Ichan wanting to combine DELL with BBRY. What a combination to get the Enterprise business. BBRY is a $10 billion company striving for $50 billion. As we speak.
Its helps Dell immensely. To eventually get out of the PC business. And strenghten there tablet offering. BBRY can push the BB10 OS into the PC replacement markets, and with there new dual screen technology. Makes a lot of sense to those that see the whole picture.
BBRY is now where MSFT was in the 80's. Believe it. It will be enriching.
Why BlackBerry's Momentum Has Turned Around [View article]
Since smartphone and tablet sales are going up and PC sales are going down. Its reasonable to believe there will be a smart phone/tablet form factor (size) that will figure into how BBRY will drive there OS advantage. BBRY is also applying for a patent for multiscreen capability. This will no doubt be released with some kind of tablet strategy. We will see more by 3rd QTR.
I also expect Blackberry to become an aggressive OS marketeer. Like MSFT was in the early 80's. See how that works.
Recently Ichan has mentioned BBRY. He has been talking alot about Dell. Boy what a combination it would be if BBRY and DELL were to join forces.
I like the Idea of BBRY growing the OS side with BES10. Gives BBRY a way to cross market to Apple and Android customers.
The gentlemen writing this article obviously doesn't appreciate these more technically security abilities of the Z10 and Q10. Governments care alot more about these things.
BlackBerry And Carl Icahn: Time For A Short Squeeze? [View article]
A company like BBRY has a great potential if teamed up with a marketing company like Dell computer. Dell has the tech expertise with service and marketing. BBry has a good balance sheet and a product that is a world beater. Oh and also a great handle in the direction of other residual income from service on BB7. And also a great possibility of new service income from the BES10 business.
Cramer mentioned in March that BB looks like its turning it around. Have a balance sheet that would attract a buyer. Im sure there will be many Ichan's before all is said and done.

He has a rep for squeezing the shorts. Looks unlikely, BTW he is still busy with Herbalife and Dell. Can he handle another set of circumstances? Probably a more realistic question.
BlackBerry Catalysts Right Under Our Noses? [View article]
The 80 or so million subscribers are hardcore security conscious types. And those future customers that want a quality phone that will last for more then a year are going BB.

If all your looking to do is make a phone call or take a picture then the cheap phones are for you. if your looking for something that is intuitive. that will try and predict your actions. or give you an edge when interacting with the world. then the z10 is what your looking for.

Its my understanding that there are phones already in the hands of military personel today. The sphones that are already there have to continue to be secure and useful. That's why BES 10 is useful to all 3 vendors involved. That is one reason that the DOD needs all three vendors to be approved.
Z10 has hooks on board to encode (download) more of the Z10 (By the DOD/CIA/FBI/NSA) if secrecy is necessary and downloading over the internet is a compromise to secrecy.
Blackberry really has a lot of code, that is old but necessary even for the Z10. So this article is essentially correct. Its true, the US Government loves Blackberry.
BlackBerry: Supporting Evidence For 6 Million BB10 Units Per Quarter [View article]
Hey Mano163
Sorry about the coming short squeeze. Everybody is loving the bb10. Even former Apple and Android customers. And the ones that stay with Apple and Android will have bes10 as a product for there customers. Providing added revenue. In any event BB wins.
BlackBerry May Make As Much Profit From One Z10 As Nokia Does From Three WP8 Lumias [View article]
Hey Big thinker. One main reason is security. Blackberry has a major dose of it. the others don't, Including Apple and Android and Windows phones. They also QNX, which gives Blackberry the leg up in the auto business. Generalizing may cause you to miss this opportunity with BB. That's your choice though.
As the market for smartphones and apps develop companies like Blackberry, and LG, will start to make a mark in this space. They both will steal some market share from Android. Blackberry will also steal some market share from Apple to. We will start to see changes this year.
This opinion comes because of the level of innovation both these companies have shown us. They both have great research in hardware technology. Blackberry the better innovator in software. Operating systems
Nokia came out with a good phone. Its Window 8 that will slow it down. Which in my opinion will be a reason that MSFT will make an offer for Blackberry, or lose out in the smartphone race.

Good point, voytekp. I saw a chart of the last years service revenue over the last 4 quarters. BB has fluctuated up and down each quarter. In the year to date quarter (2012). We were at 76 million. When I saw it I thought maybe its just a seasonal adjustment. They eventually came back up to 80 Million in the 3rd qtr I believe (could be 2nd?). Anyway just wanted to say that.
Secondly your point about future service revenue. I agree they are definitely expanding the offering making Apple and Android. A part of BES10. Which starts in late may to early June timeframe. After seeing that I was wondering if there was a way for BB to download the whole operating system to an Android or IOS device? Could be on the horizon. We will see.
