fyi. article below goes into a little more detail on tri-gate technology. but they seem far less certain that it will pay off for intel. also, they say this is not really new from Intel, but demo-ed by others as finFET tech. but it suggests only Intel has money to create new fabs using tech.

don't know about the rest of your picks, but iRobot it going down. It's a classic value trap, as competitors are now coming out with superior products on consumer side of business. also, defense dept will not be buying many anti-IED robots after we leave afghanistan.

  • Trade Idea In Crude Oil [View article]
I agree with link below. we are in second leg of boom / bust cycle, so down to $67. also, natural gas will replace oil in all areas where it's possible, even eventually trucking.

but oil to gas ratio isn't one of them. because they can substitute for the other if the price is right.

you talk a lot about the cost of pure electric vehicle batteries, but to make an accurate comparison, you need to balance that with hybrid costs. they include a second gas engine with maintenance costs, additional drive-train, ect. Also, parallel hybrids will require using gas only, which has a big cost premium over electricity. toyota did come out with plug in prius, so they must think it's an important feature. you can create electricity with natural gas, which is about a quarter the cost per BTU vs gasoline. of course, natural gas autos would be even better, but it may take years before the infrastructure gets setup.

  • Oil and Natural Gas: Why Has This Historical Correlation Recently Broken Down? [View article]
interesting article below on whether natural gas is really reducing oil demand. I am undecided at moment. seems both are headed down at the moment, because of recessions worries.

  • Why Some Coal Stocks Could See Gains Up To 100% [View article]
even if natural gas has found a bottom, is coal competitive at current prices? I don't think so. natural gas has to actually go up by quite a bit. I don't think overseas sales can make up the difference. IMHO, betting against the trend is not advisable in this case.

  • Tesla Model X: Too Much, Too Fast? [View article]
The costs of Telsa vehicles will only make them interesting to rich guys wanting to show off. I'm actually glad that people like this exist, otherwise new impractical products might never get developed to the point they become useful. But there is a huge jump from that to general market, and I put odds at only 10 percent that Tesla makes it. As usual for these types of companies, the risk reward is not good enough for Telsa stock. IMHO.

  • 7 High-Yielding Natural Gas MLPs To Consider For 2012 [View article]
I'm wondering what effect lower natural gas prices will really have on storage plays, like PNG. gas drillers will only want to store gas if they think gas prices will rise in near future. if they believe downtrend will continue, wouldn't they just get whatever price they can? also, doesn't lower prices mean storage companies have to charge less? if anyone has insight on this, please reply.

  • Apple: The Most Undervalued Large-Cap Stock In America [View article]
To keep growing at 50%, they will need to invent new categories of consumer electronics in next few years. I don't think even if Jobs was still alive they could duplicate the past 5 years. All companies, especially as large as Apple, eventually have their growth rates decline to more normal levels. Obviously the Apple fans will disagree, but time will tell. Not that I think Apple is bad investment, but just not as good a deal as you seem to think.

  • The Euro Rescue Fiasco [View article]
I don't see why the ECB can't just print money like Fed. Many apocalyptic predictions were made about US doing this, but I don't see any really bad outcomes as of yet. It does inflate both stocks and gold. But it acts as a counter-weight to the deflation cycle in housing. Monetization seems the best option of very bad alternatives.
