I consider myself a full-time investor but make only a couple of trades monthly on average. I try to realize my gains long-term in order to take advantage of preferential tax treatment of long term gains. I try not to overly diversify but try to hold roughly an equal market value of each holding. I prefer value investing and dividend growth as strategies. A combination of the two is best and when I find a stock that fits that criteria, I buy it. I would say that I make bold trades at times when others are being fearful. I find it rewarding when it pays off.
