  • Cutting The Dividend Now Will Increase Kinder Morgan's Value  [View article]
KM is one of many getting hammered now. Whatever Mr. Kinder and mgmt decide will work out in the shareholders best interest. Talk about having to play a tough hand! Let the whiners sell, I'll buy and in 5 years will smile and count my money. It may take longer depending on the energy market. Good article.

  • Why I Don't Care If Kinder Morgan Heads For New 52-Week Lows  [View article]
This is a stock I will never sell so as long as it pays the dividend doesn't much matter the price. In a tax advantaged account. In at an average of $34 and sure it feels better when the value is higher. I remember why I bought the stock and dividend collection is it so don't panic, just collect the divy, all the back a forth with short sellers and bulls just creating froth. Picked up another 500 shares today at $26 for a 7.7% div. If they don't grow the div so what. If they go BK well that's a problem but unlikely. Buy when the market is in a panic. Hard to do but remember that all the volume today had buyers on one side of the trade. Be bold!

  • Gary Shilling: U.S. Dollar Headed Higher; Bull Market In Bonds Not Over Yet  [View article]
Shilling has been mostly right for the past 4 years that I've been reading him. Been less supportive of the overall stock market but correct in the estimate of growth, interest rates, the dollar and bonds.

Perhaps I am overly cynical but a second reason for an insider to purchase stock is to support the price. Entities such as insider monkey, and others report it and the stick gets bought. Just saying.

  • Why This 5.8%-Yielding REIT Is A Strong Buy  [View article]
The big issue with HCP is the Manor Care problem. This stick is much riskier than VTR or HCN thus the lower FFO multiple. I sold all my REIT's a few weeks ago locking in 18 months of appreciation and div re investments. Will buy back in when prices drop another 10-15%.

  • Message To McDonald's Management: Don't Sell The Real Estate Assets  [View article]
How about spinning RE assets into a "MacREIT" and maintain a majority interest in the REIT to benefit from increased RE value. This way the combined entities would result in an increase in the RE values? Just a thought.

  • Apple Didn't Work For Me But Intel And Microsoft Made Up For It  [View instapost]
On balance well done Michael. I've been doing quite well selling calls against my Intel position but now find myself on the wrong side of the trade having sold 47 Jan24 contracts exp 1/18 at $.53. It is now at $1.84 and I am likely to get called away. Concerned about covering at this level as INTC has been fickle. Probably just going to take a profit and exit the stock at a basis of $19.70 not including all the reinvested dividends. May come back at a more atrtractive re-entry point. Thoughts?
