  • Investors pay to lend to Portugal [View news story]
It's not ordinary retail investors of the sort buying. It's large institutions who have to park their money somewhere. Paying a negative yield is the alternative to taking physical delivery of euros and building a warehouse to protect them.

  • Is Herbalife Actually Selling Anything? [View article]
As far as I can tell this is the only the second time Dana Blankenthorn has ever commented about Herbalife, the first being in 2012. He hardly fits the profile of an "Ackman paid crony" and something tells me the FBI won't be bothering him any time soon.

Is Herbalife so sacred that nobody can ask a simple question as to how New York's attorney general's attack on the supplement industry in general will have an affect on Herbalife?

Are we even reading the same article?

  • Will Be Facing Much Higher Shipping Costs Even With Lower Crude [View article]
I've worked in logistics for a number of years.

To clarify, both UPS and FedEx have always had dimensional weight pricing. If they made a change, it's basically they are dividing by a smaller denominator when calculating dimensional weight. When I worked as a billing auditor several years ago I believe they divided by 192.

Yes, it represents a cost increase, but it isn't a new policy.
