  • Tesla's Superior Business Model May Justify Tesla's Stock Price [View article]
Shanester, do you think that other car companies don't have a social media presence? It's just another part of marketing these days.

Trying to justify valuation with the number of Twitter followers stinks of the late 1990s dot com implosion.

  • Tesla's Superior Business Model May Justify Tesla's Stock Price [View article]
"Moreover, Tesla has a very strong and enthusiastic fan base: 940,144 likes on Facebook, 649,000 followers on Twitter, 26,877 members on Tesla Motors Club, and 22,744 subscribers on Reddit."

  • Tesla Announces Model S Cars Get Driven Less Than What The Average U.S. Driver Drives [View article]
I'd expect Tesla to have a little less average mileage than other cars, since as electric cars they would be generally more suited to local or city driving than frequent long trips.

It's just a marketing gimmick, nothing more.

  • Investors pay to lend to Portugal [View news story]
It's not ordinary retail investors of the sort buying. It's large institutions who have to park their money somewhere. Paying a negative yield is the alternative to taking physical delivery of euros and building a warehouse to protect them.
