    • Hillbilly Stock Star: Never thought I would see panic selling of gold & silver!

    • JCH57: Well, a lot of the buying into them was panic buying. So it was owned by people who are susceptible to panicking.

    • talbano: I remember watching it in Oct maybe fall to 50/60 thinkin I should buy it ..went up to 120 within 2 weeks. Now I would touch it.
      12/28/11
    • talbano: at least yet

    • JCH57: I find a 2-year chart of silver prices to be interesting. Once you get past the recent bubble, real support is around $18 per oz.
      12/28/11
    • John Rayhall: Silver looks like it wants to go to at least 25 I may think about it then.
      12/28/11
    • JCH57: There looks to be some support just below here at about $26.30 or so, but nothing below that until 18-ish.
      12/28/11
    • JCH57: (using silver futures pricing, not AGQ)
      12/28/11
    • John Rayhall: Busted right through the last support which was 28.12 right? Seems like a super risky trade but no risk no reward.
      12/28/11
    • John Rayhall: $18 would def kill all the Silver bulls. Wonder where all the $100 dollar silver people are now?
      12/28/11
    • JCH57: Hopefully they had stops in much higher than this.
      12/28/11
    • JCH57: Those who buy the physical metal as protection against hyperinflation or collapse of currencies shouldn't care about something as minor...
      12/28/11
    • JCH57: ...as fluctuations in the value of "worthless paper" anyway.
      12/28/11
    • John Rayhall: Ya it's only paper losses ;)
      12/28/11
    • JCH57: When it gets back to $14/oz I may buy some silver flatware so we don't mess up the good stainless.
      12/28/11
    • John Rayhall: That would be crazy I'll sell everything I own and buy silver at that point! Lol
      12/28/11
    • JCH57: SLV was as low as $8.45 back at the bottom of the Oct 2008 financial meltdown. Of course, we'll never have something like that again.
      12/28/11
    • John Rayhall: Ya I remember buying SLW at 3.14 and then buying at 6.75 and selling it all at 7.20 wish I had held I would have some serious $$$ now.

    • talbano: jch- never say never -
      12/28/11
    • JCH57: Tal - humanity will never let a financial system collapse like that happen, we learned so much and have put in all the safeguards needed!
      12/28/11
    • John Rayhall: Ya I agree the banks are no where near in the same crisis levels they were back then.
      12/28/11
    • Agbug: silver is a hyperactive barometer. Dont look good for SPY in Q1/2012.
      12/28/11
    • John Rayhall: Did Silver find new support at the 26 level?
