  • BlackBerry's services revenue expected to fall 50% in FY16 [View news story]
Even if Blackberry BES 12 manages 100 Million Mobile devices (smartphones, Tablets etc) (Out of 500 Million world wide Enterprise Devices) and if they charge $5 per device per month which is $60 per year per device it takes the income from S/W services to $6 billion. Assuming a meager 30% margin It takes the profits to $1.8 Billion. Even at 3x price to sales (assuming 0 hardware revenue) it takes the market cap tp $18 billion which is 3X from today ie $36 price target!

  • BlackBerry: Don't Let The Smoke And Mirrors Fool You [View article]
Could be a case in which Lenovo would want to use BB 10 OS and Blackberry may license some of its patents to Lenovo for a healthy royalty income. As far as the BES management is considered Lenovo could be a reseller nothing beyond that.

I see great developments for Blackberry in the month of November.

  • BlackBerry: It Is Hip To Be Square [View article]
Sir your ASP for the following models is totally wrong namely Z10, Q10, BB 7 devices, & Classic. What makes you feel BB shall price the Classic at par with Passport. Lets be realistic Classic specs & built are no match with Passport and would be surprising to see it price at par. Also Classic is made by Foxconn so BB shall try and keep it priced very competitively.

  • BlackBerry Passport Is No Apple iPhone Killer [View article]
Who the hell told you that Blackberry Passport wants to compete with iSheep? Blackberry wants to sell passports to niche markets like healthcare, architects, engineers, etc Even if Blackberry manages to sell 5 million passports in a year that would be amazing and make Blackberry Hardware division profitable...! Passport form factor is a game changer and it shall surely find many buyers!

  • Will Multi-Platform BBM Help BlackBerry? [View article]
I agree BBM Video shall do well but these BBM Folks are taking like forever to get that feature rolling for Android & IOS. Also very disappointed to know that Windows BBM wont have BBM Voice. As most of windows phones are sold in places where BBM Voice would have rocked!

  • BlackBerry's Price-To-Sales Ratio Is... What? [View article]
Once market gets convinced of Blackberrys turnaround I am sure the P/S ratio shall re-rate significantly for Blackberry.

Had Blackberry listed its Mobile Device Management business separately it would have had been a different story. Generally Sum of Parts of such multi-business companies get lower valuation.

  • BlackBerry Back In The Black [View article]
If Blackberry can generate sales per following would be enough to re-rate the BBRY share price to $30: (These are per year sales)

    Z10 1 Million Units ASP $200
    Q10 1 Million Units ASP $230
    Q5 1 Million Units ASP $230
Blackberry Classic 5 Million Units ASP $450
    Z30 1 Million Units ASP $400
Blackberry Passport 2 Million Units ASP $450

SO this comes to: 11 Million Units at ASP $382

Thats a topline of $4.20 USD Billion
Even at a Net Margin of 5% that is a NET INCOME of RS 210 Million USD

  • BlackBerry Is Going To $10.50, Z3 Is Launching In More Countries [View article]
    1. Won sell well in India as price tag is around 260$ which is higher than what Indians were expecting at around $200 which was the price in Indonesia. This shall put off the so called mid tier smartphone buyers as there are almost 500 handsets of various companies which sell under $200 with better specs and Android apps.

    2. Z3 will be a very LOW MARGIN business and most of the profits shall go to Foxconn. Only then they would have wanted to venture into a deal and take risk of selling Blackberry handsets.

    3. BB OS 10.3 with Z3 launch would have been ideal. But hope that it comes ASAP on Z3 as well.

    4. Blackberry needs to sell more of classic and passport to get good hardware margins. All stakes are on that. Z3 is just to regain some lost market share with nil margins.

  • Lazaridis, fellow co-founder considering BlackBerry bid [View news story]
If these insiders are going to bid the minority shareholders are not going to get a fair deal. Max $9 No doubt Mike raised his stake at lower levels as he knew its going to be $9

  • BlackBerry Is A Phenomenal Failure - Time To Buy [View article]
These 70 million customers have no value. Can you guarantee in their next phone upgrade cycle they will stick with Blackberry and not go the Android way? I assign 0 value to these subs!

  • BlackBerry Is A Phenomenal Failure - Time To Buy [View article]
$34 you are dreaming. Max upside that BBRY shareholders can get is $11 to $12. But chances are more likely that Fairfax is inclined to close this deal at $9. The whole real estate markets knows that Blackberry building is for sale. So they will get a very low price. Also when the company is going to dogs automatically its patents are sold at a fire sale. Blackberry earns 95% of its revenues from the Service fees from OS7 and rest from Hardware. Both of these are declining at a very rapid pace. only 5% comes from the MDM which Blackberry claims has 20K companies testing.

  • Who Is Going To Buy BlackBerry: Mike Lazaridis, Large Tech Or Prem Watsa? [View article]
Based on my experience the deal has already been done. The very fact that they pre announced the write off and layoff plans means that they are doing all it takes to give the new owners the price at which they want to company. It could be a combined offer from Mr. Watsa and the former BB founders and may be 1-2 PE firms. We all know Blackberry H/W division's value is close to Zero or even negative so they are cleaning up before they can hand over the company. Also Heins etc get their fat bonuses. The only big losers of these deals are the minority shareholders. I am sure Mr. Watsa and rest know how to make 2X 3X money of Blackberry in next 2-3 years. But they would make the same for themselves after taking BB private. Top management of Blackberry is filled with JUNK!
