Solar Energy: Help Is on the Way

AKNS's insider trading revealed something new to me - several insiders' acquisition costs are listed as "0". How does this work? I thought options, qualified or not, had a strike price. Aside from that, there was some selling in the 3rd QTR, but not, IMO, any significant % of their holdings. Thanks in advance to anyone fielding my question.
