  • Raymond James downgrades Apple; Watch ship times slip to May/June [View news story]
I left Raymond James in '93 when I called my broker to initiate a position in MSFT. Couldn't get him (beeper, no cell phones). When he finally got back to me (after his tennis game) he tried to talk me out of buying it at an incredibly good price after a brief dip.
He tried to talk me into numerous front load mutual funds though.

PS: Did quite well on my MSFT, thank you.

To answer your question in the title:

It's a curse for the bears, it's a catalyst for the bulls.
    End of discussion IMO.

And also sir, doesn't that also mean that Apple isn't going to be satisfied with 2nd best re. this issue?

Because the iPhone quality has always been the best of the competition as you wrote above.

I remember that (arguably) the world's most famous photographer Ms. Annie Leibowitz, when asked in an interview what camera she depends on most she answered her iPhone. Please note that it was 3-5 years ago that I read that.

If, as you stated, that cameras are an important part of the iPhone platform, I doubt Cook & Co. are going to rest on their collective laurels and stay 2nd best for long.

    Best Regards

    @Bradmeister:

"And, perhaps most disturbing of all, you grossly overstate the importance of camera technical specs in the overall smartphone purchase decision process"

Therein lies the biggest flaw in the article, kudos for making the point.

" because it will be AAPL on one side and a many photography enthusiasts on the other, making post-processing improvements the scope of which is nearly unlimited."

Aren't the many photography enthusiasts already using a Canon or other such quality camera? I can't believe that there are that many camera bugs even using their phone to take an important shot except for times they are simply without their favorite camera.

Interesting read sir but how many iPhone users are going to leave the *ecosystem* for a decent Android camera? One that has finally caught to the iPhone in quality. IMO not many.
The people who care that much about the issue are using already using a high end camera.

So what's gonna' happen after AAPL is over $200? You think they're going to split again just to stay on the DOW, don't think so. This company pokes Wall Street in the eye on a regular basis and I doubt they care one iota about being on the irrelevant DJIA.

    JMHO....OK maybe not so humble.

I don't think that Cook & Co. gives a rat's #$% about being on the DOW. I seriously doubt that being on the DJIA had any bearing on the split.
