  • BlackBerry lower; Bloomberg, analysts speculate breakup on tap  [View news story]
The pace at which buy out talks (as a whole or in parts) are moving,I will not be surprised if they drag the process along until after the next ER.Another loss is projected which will drive the stock price further down. The buyer(s) will then make an offer with " a premium " which might be arround where it is trading today or even lower!
A strategic alliance would be a much better play for all.

  • Can BlackBerry's Patent Power Recharge Its Profitability?‎  [View article]
Read this report there is probably over 100,000 patent infringement claims. We can now understand why the compettition wants BBRY dead.Because if they decide to exercise their legal rights for compensation on these infringements all hell will beak loose.

I could be wrong, but what you are inferring is that BBRY has allowed its competition et al to infringe on its patents to BBRY's detriment while management and the BOD sat twiddling its thumbs??

Hi Tufnek,do I understand you right when you say that you see the floor forming at $6.00 per share.Do you mean that you anticipate the shares to further fall to $6.00.I need to buy some more shares to lower my average purchase price, however if you thinks it will fall further,i will wait.Or should I buy a little every week?Anyone have any idea how I should do this?

  • The Case Of The Bid-Button Happy BlackBerry Short Seller  [View article]
The smartphone market for BBRY is a means to an end in its turn arround drive.BBRY direction is software.I tend to agree with Peter Misik in this regard. The smartphone/hardware market has become much to competitive and the Chinese manufacturers will be flooding the market with "WOW" phones at rock bottom prices in the near future. There is no way Apple or Blackberry (or even Samsung) can compete with that.I think the Thorson/ Blackberry has hinted that this is the way they will be heading. With the above in mind, in the near future we should be looking less at revenue from smartphones and more at revenue from its software applications. Is there anyone out there who have an idea on what is their current and projected income from their non hardware business?

  • Calendar Q2 iPhone (AAPL +0.6%) sales are trending towards ~30M (above a ~27M consensus), says Jefferies' Peter Misek in an info-packed note. Misek also: 1) Believes Apple has set aggressive Q3 and Q4 iPhone build plans, with nearly half the Q4 builds involving a cheaper iPhone. 2) States the iPad Mini is "cannibalizing more than expected," and expects the current model to be kept and discounted after a retina model launches. 3) Expects the 5th-gen iPad to be ~50% lighter and 30%-40% thinner. 4) Thinks AT&T (T) and Verizon (VZ) are talking with Chinese white-box OEMs about selling carrier-branded phones, in an effort to cut subsidy costs. 5) Believes consumer BlackBerry Z10 (BBRY +0.5%) sales have slowed, but that Q10 sales are better than expected.  [View news story]

  • BlackBerry: The Next Catalyst  [View article]
Hey guys anyone heard anything from Colin lately?.I really enjoy reading his articles and comments.Ashraf I thought you held a position in this stock??.I agree with Ashraf, investment at this point is long term.I do not think we will see the type of increases in stock as was seen in its climb from the $6 range and future catalysis will be new launches and earnings report.I am new to trading ( about 6 months),so I took someone's advice from SA and took my capital out and left my profits in long.
