Our govt. has investigated the oil companies looking for price fixing regularly over the last 40 years and discovered a free market operation again and again. The EU is likely to find the same thing. Statoil is owned mostly by the Norwegian govt.. Would they put them in jail if they found something they did not like?

I never cared what he was writing about, his prose and unique views gave me pleasure. He had a special way of turning a phrase. His column was the best thing about the paper, you might say he was a franchise writer.

FX might as well stand for fiat exchange. How many fiat units it takes to buy a barrel of oil, a bushel of wheat, a pound of copper or a ton of steel gives you the value of the fiat and the price of the hard asset.

Blaming any revenue problem at the company on sequestration is simply not credible. I can not imagine why it is any part of the companies report unless they are refusing to admit management problems.

The only security in any of these systems seems to be for accurate billing. They all seem vulnerable to hacking by criminals and terrorists like anonymous. All computer users are obliged to pay for anti virus software which should have been built in to the systems. Phones as i understand it are already getting hacked.

They plan on investing $16 billion in UAW jobs to make cars in competition with non-union auto makers. They are not very interested in paying back the taxpayer it seems. Thieves usually do not have a conscience.

I wish that the govt. had financed this rare earth operation instead of electric cars and solar power, it would have made our country stronger not having the Chinese controlling the market. There will always be a market for rare earths. The idea that if we build it they will buy it has not worked only half the reason being that the products did not work as advertised, the other half being that even if they did not catch fire, the were over priced to competitive products.

Big brother ( the SEC ) could not find this even though they have thousands of times the resources. They are too busy with porn on their computers. The private sector beats the govt. every time. The SEC clods get paid the same no matter how little they produce.
