  • Treasury yields slide following jobs miss [View news story]
Following up, I haven't seen much written on international sovereign fixed income arbitrage. This has to be a force in our fixed income markets.

  • Is The Apple Run Over? [View article]
Don't ignore decline volume. That is objective, unlike anything above. If you really want to buy, look for an upside volume reversal. And watch JNJ continue to outperform most megacaps.

Why do so many people here resort to name calling? Buy "Where is the Love" on ITunes.

  • Apple: Who Might Subsidize The iWatch? [View article]
Subsidies probably won't materialize. Apple will certainly not achieve its lofty margin goals on this item, whatever it is?

That is not a geometrically or quantitatively literate comment by any stretch.

  • Not Selling Apple On September 9th Makes More Sense [View article]
If I were unhedged in Apple, I would be concerned. The new products have what appear to be substantial engineering flaws. But all is not lost, you still have IOS. Has anyone ever heard of put options, or going short against the box?

  • Now It Gets Interesting [View article]
Fixed income markets seem to be speaking with one voice about the ability of World markets to efficiently allocate capital to true productive potential. We are seeing aversion to investment both on the part of lenders and potential borrowers in no small way stemming from pernicious legislation and regulation. Is velocity of money slow because we are spinning our wheels in the muddiest economic environment in human history, or what is the actual problem? Ms. Admati calls out leaders in our financial system for harboring deficient macro paradigms. What leaders will develop a system of incentives that lead one to believe our financial system has credible foundations?

  • Double Top For Apple? [View article]
If you want to make money on this one short straddles at the midpoint between earnings, and watch them decay. Don't fool with short straddles near earnings, instead go long straddles, especially with anemic VIX levels.

  • Ultra Cheap Mobile Phones Will Upset The Industry Apple Cart [View article]
Now that Jobs is gone Apple=IOS. And that is a fading competitve advantage. The new One Plus phone is a flat 300 bucks, and no hardware can touch it. In two years only crazy people will throw over 200 at a phone. Now do the math. Remember there are around 7 billion people on Earth. How many of those know where their next meal is coming from?

  • A Long-Term Threat To Apple [View article]
Handsets will have a status similar to the I Pod sooner than you think. The I Pad is already headed there. No one seems to understand how ordinary and uninteresting this fad product is starting to look. We are close to the top performing phones being 200 dollar items. One Plus will get there first.
