  • What Are Apple Shares Really Worth? [View article]
It just feels like the bloom is off the phone rose regardless of the supplier, and Moore's Law seems to be kicking in for product cycles, so have fun with that.

One simple point: There are always hundreds of better ideas globally than any mega cap. And in aggregate, liquid mega caps are a stellar source of funds.

  • Buy Apple Now - Second-Quarter iPhone Sales Predicted To Beat Consensus [View article]
To report a forecast of aggregate sales without forecasting by individual product is, to be kind, useless.

  • Xiaomi Is A Big Threat To Apple [View article]
The Mathematica algorithm doesn't have any capability to capture disruptive shifts in consumer sentiment. Cooks biggest frustration from what I hear is based on how Apple has been ripped by patent infringement. Here is a thought: As something like IOS gets bigger and actually fatter, the door opens for a streamlined seamless coordinated set of apps in a deadly efficient operating system that just coordinates those things. Apple better see that too much of a good thing is a bad thing, or they will be shocked at how the aggregate global consumer is no longer attracted to their overpriced toys.

  • The Great Correction Of 2014? Don't Drink The Kool-Aid [View article]
Stocks are perpetuities, but 40 percent of the top companies probably won't exist in ten years based on disruptive economic activity. Layer that with an assumption that average GDP growth might be 1.6 percent for the next 25 years, and see how those assumptions coupled with hyper-concentration of wealth value the S and P 500.

Buy a stock for full cash in a margin account. Then use it as collateral to short an equal dollar amount of another stock. You are generally allowed more leverage than this. Dual 50 percent moves should get it done before margin interest.

Buy BBRY in a margin account and short AAPL with no extra capital commitment. You can go over 100 percent with full margin and 50 percent up and down.

  • I Was Wrong About Apple [View article]
I have done prospective market surveys, but don't give my results for free. The summary is 100,000. But the level of interest in switching to the 6 would surprise people. Also the 5s 16 GB is being given away right now for trading in select I Phone models. What is the sell through on the trade in, and 5s subsidy? Figure it out yourself, it is middle school stuff. The comprehensive model with the friction of handling requires a very high price on the 6. What will the 6 do? A sapphire crystal wrap around watch? All I can say is IOS better carry a PE like CRM equity has. Technical people: Just look for signs of distribution, and a fifth wave up.

  • The ECB Cuts Rates And The Euro Continues To Rise [View article]
World financial markets are only beginning to perceive the reality that low rates, without a system that efficiently allocates capital to entities that can create wealth rather than act as a liquidity dam, brings to the global economic system. Worthwhile human capital is left without funding, while bloated entitled entities waste capital. Does anyone want to do the analysis that is necessary to deploy capital where it develops human potential? Wealth promises to concentrate further and further into the hands of passive investors when it needs to be in the hands of those who have intimate local knowledge of emerging opportunities. It goes even to the structure of how we educate our financial professionals.
