  • Apple: One Has To Think The Bigger Picture [View article]
It is what it is. Very stagnant even with perceived tailwinds others would beg for. Im out soon. Other stocks have better perceived value and momentum. Too many people like to pick this company apart when it is doing a great job. Like Starwars experts, cant wait to analyze every line of the new movie.

  • NeoStem prices equity offering; dilution depresses shares [View news story]
Im not terribly over invested. However it really pisses me off that they would dilute shares. But maybe it their last resort. Ill be watching for the entertainment at this point. The only positive is that between the grant and this offering there is more cash.

  • Economy Stalls In The First Quarter [View article]
The economy increased by a small margin compared to the same quarter last year. I think that is a win when taking into account the drastic drop in oil prices.

  • Gilead - What Could Possibly Go Wrong This Time? [View article]
Its the typical earnings posturing. One more big drop and Im done with this stock. It has no widely accepted tail winds. Dead money. Hope Im wrong but its happened the last two quarters at least.

  • Sales growth decelerates at Rite Aid in February [View news story]
Buying opportunity. Would you really think Jan and Feb sales would be stronger than the Xmas season? However the scope of the article really reflects the trader mentality when fishing for short term gains from shorting a stock. I don't have time for it.

  • Earnings Update: Gilead Sciences Beats Estimates Yet Again [View article]
Added at just above $96 today. It'll be interesting to see when this stock runs. There is less and less negative to expose. I temper that comment with the creativity of the recent Express Scripts/AbbieV play.

  • Gilead, Abbvie, Express Scripts, And Biotech Industry Turmoil Seen By Market-Makers [View article]
Excellent article. Goes to show the risk always needs to be minimized for an individual investor with their own hedges on every investment. I bow to Abbie V for their smart tactics which for me has clearly pointed out that there is a way to attack a seeming monopoly, even with an inferior product. I bet a lot patients who are prescribed the Abbie V regimen wont even know Gilead has a solution. I hope that Gilead has a trick or two up their sleeves to restore intelligence in the choice of drugs to prop the stock price back up. Notice that it is the countries with socialized medicine who negotiate discounts whereas in the good old US it is still companies competing with each other that causes corrections like these. Or at least that's my perception at this point. I'm good with that.

  • The Lost Bets Chronicles: Nokia [View article]
I don't understand. NOK is up to around 8 from 1.70 a couple years ago. No value? As always you need to look into the future based on value and performance. I see it different but would drop NOK if it underperformed.

  • Neostem (NBS -15.3%) trades sharply lower on the session. Perhaps weighing on the shares is a paper by Stanford's Dr. Irving Weissman and others which questions the existence of pluripotent VSELs in mice. [View news story]
I'm staying in with a current profit and possibly selling some AAPL to add to my position. AAPL rumors are just that so far. NBS appears to be solid in several ways.

  • Unipixel (UNXL +2.4%) is reiterated a Buy by Cowen & Co.'s Rob Stone who calls Friday's 26% plunge overdone.  "It is logical for the PC OEM partner to delay a new product launch within months of an operating system update," he writes. Addressing Atmel (ATML -0.1%), Stone says the "competitive landscape appears unchanged." [View news story]
What's the catalyst to buying it with a lawsuit on tap?
