  • Long-Term Outlook - Bleak! [View article]
Thanks for your contribution to the societal structure that makes your lifestyle possible (assuming such). If you think you can do this all on your own, you are probably aren't thinking about this with much clarity - as evidenced by the imprecise rant against those things with which you disagree.

  • Long-Term Outlook - Bleak! [View article]
It seems to me that the "downhill slide of freedoms and the republic" is largely a viewpoint of persons unwilling to come to grips with the fact they must share the republic and public space with others that don't share their viewpoint. We are not a country now where the unsociable can light out for Kentucky (pronounce it "Kan-tuckey" for desired effect) and live on the frontier in peace, with the possible exception of Alaska. In a society of 300m people, everyone must understand and accept that their "rights" also interact and sometimes infringe on the "rights" of others.

Point being that those who don't lose their heads or their cool do pretty well when others think things are bleak and freak out.

  • Long-Term Outlook - Bleak! [View article]
Since the beginning of human history, there have always been some select few to point out the end is near. Maybe they are right this time, but I'm not taking that low-percentage bet.

  • Is It Time For Southwest Airlines To Charge For Luggage? [View article]
I think the concept that "there is no reason for Southwest to give away that which other airlines charge for" misses the point of what LUV offers - a mostly hassle free, flexible travel experience that is now unique among all US carriers. And LUV (as a company) has consistently crushed the legacy carriers. I don't think I'd tamper with something that is working that well from them. That's my viewpoint as a frequent customer - I'm not an investor.

  • Why "S&P 2000″ Is A Fed Manufactured Mirage: The "Buy The Dips" Chart That Says It All [View article]
Assumptions regarding the need for "propellant" aside, my point is that regardless of why, the S&P is where it is. If you have been betting on upside, so far so good. If you been betting on downside, better luck next time. If you are betting on a "financial train wreck," best have a Plan B.

It may be 'manufactured' or it may not. But it is at 2000 irrespective of theories why it shouldn't be.

  • Herbalife: What The FTC Has To Work With [View article]
It is illegal to make fraudulent representations (which are known or should have been known) to induce another into a business transaction when the representation is material to the inducement. Aside from any MLM problems, HLF additionally has a problem in tort law.

Well there is this little snake oil thing that Ackman has on HLF's fraudulent activities (and now the world) called "evidence." That's the distinguishing factor between whatever influence he might have on HLF and most other publicly traded companies. Supporting documentation is such a drag.

RICO - man if a person was involved with HLF and the like they should be sitting uneasy. Civil and criminal penalties. Public and private enforcement/causes of action.

There is going to be a run on commercial-grade shredders - how can I get a position on that action.
