With current $MNK $MNK deal structure, what's the best way to determine whether or not current prices offer attractive entry points?

    • oneotherfool: See my above post for formula. That assumes that the deal goes through (I don't see why not, unless there's a better bid). Hope it helps.

    • danepearson: Thanks, I also took this approach; combined earnings: 297.97, new total shares: 60.15026, current QCOR PE: 14 gives est. MNK price: $68.65

    • Mongoose7916: Do not buy $MNK...yet! One of the problems with this deal is it gives shorts a way to continue their games. I am not happy.

    • Mongoose7916: Alot going on here but expect the shorts to move their activity into $MNK to help them cover their $MNK shorts. I would have preferred an

    • Mongoose7916: all cash deal rather than getting $30 in cash and the rest in stock. I sold some $MNK today for the first time in a long time.

    • Mongoose7916: I will likely move the money into $MNK after the shorts next salvo. Buy and hold as a strategy really is dead.

    • oneotherfool: Yeah, not buying $MNK. Hanging on to QCOR 2/3 of my position here....Will see how this develops. The positive side of "not all cash", is,

    • oneotherfool: the way I see it, if $MNK appreciates, then our shares will automatically appreciate beyond $86. Whereas, with cash deal, it's limited to it

    • oneotherfool: Today volume was really high. Although I'd like short to have gotten it much worse than this, maybe they'll be off $MNK's case now.
      4/7/14
    • oneotherfool: I'm sure not all volume today was short covering, but even if some of it was, I'd be happy. Also, note that much of today's $MNK volume was

    • oneotherfool: shorting. AS soon as it hit 10% (the breaker rule kicked in)...and it snapped back. I agree with you that some have switched to shorting MNK

    • oneotherfool: it would be foolish of them to completely carry their shorts to $MNK. They'll just play games, as usual, until they're completely out.

    • Mongoose7916: They have to short $MNK. The value of the $MNK short is now directly tied to it. $MNK also doesn't have the same balance sheet as $QCOR.

    • Mongoose7916: Another thing $MNK longs were mostly becoming immune to the short attacks. But now that Acthar is going to $MNK that is a whole new base to

    • Mongoose7916: spread fear with. Also even though QCOR will appreciate with MNK if it goes up it will decline (at least till covering) with a drop down.
      4/7/14
    • Mongoose7916: QCOR management was doing a fine job of battling the shorts as much as they could...Is $MNK really aware of the games coming their way?
      4/7/14
    • oneotherfool: "Is $MNK really aware of the games coming their way?"...I sure hope they performed enough DD for a deal like this to be aware. We shall see.

    • Mongoose7916: Final thought $MNK already had a decent size short float...like I said alot is going on here.
