  • Yahoo China Divorce Nears End With Beijing Pull-Out [View article]
@Andreas Hopf. You are spot on. If u r in anything high value add esp tech, u must realize going I u have a 10 year window to make money and then it's a crapshoot. But this is not just against foreign companies. Their local competitors who are not well connected face even worse obstacles. It's not anti foreign just anti whoever is not part of the buddy buddy network.

  • Wynn Resorts - More Concerns, Few Catalysts, I Remain Cautious [View article]
@lynne2015. Can only give u an opinion but I've been listening to Steve Wynn for 8 years and he and Sheldon are amazing. In the short term I suspect the next few weeks may see high volatility, maybe even spike down to 112 ish, but may also likely spike back to 160 the same week. Hard to say which comes first. Over a longer timeframe I don't believe the downturn in Macau to be permanent just a rebalance of high roller to middle premium. Wynn will adjust and he will be fine. There are too many new middle class in Asia and India and Japan to sell Macau short.

  • Las Vegas Sands: 15+% Downside As More Casinos Fight Over A Shrinking Macau [View article]
Elephant analytics, I take back using the word hack. You probably mean well but in my opinion you are clearly cherry picking the data points to support a short thesis and ignoring many other developments and other Macau govt quotes from even higher ranking officials, perhaps you just aren't aware of those data sources. See you when you cover those shorts in 6 months.

The one quote the author uses .. That same official just a day later gave more detail another's as well clearly stating they were not asking for a cap on visitors rather than a readjustment of mix.

The Macau govt in fact clearly wants more conventions and foreigners and over nighters. The author hasn't dug deep enough into local interviews and clearly is just recycling equally ignorant headlines from other bloggers in an endless blogger unending ignorant new cycle. Wonder who the blogger is tomorrow who quotes from this hack.

The writer gives no sources for his claim that Macau govt doesn't want more visitors. There is not one official that has made that statement, they have said they want the current visitation scheme with day trippers in Guandong reviewed NOT any overall cap. What a hack piece.

  • UBS pushes out Macau recovery outlook to 2016 [View news story]
Month to month comps for this year will comp positively starting soon, all the analysts have now covered their tails and all the blustering is done, with Macau in recession the govt will need to refocus on tax base growth rather than dabbling with smoking and revenue mix.

Besides, where else to out your money if not in stocks. Bonds will tank sometime this year or next. Brazil is about to implode meaning banks will have to be bailed out again. Russia May or may not implode financially. Banks are the riskiest place u can hold your money if u want a positive, return.

Cloud storage has just about run it's ramp up. It's good for some needs but not others. Meanwhile digital content just grows and grows, it's a rebalance which is about done. Now they will grow together. Just like paper and digital documents. Both are doing just fine, thanks.

  • Does Coach Have Growth Potential? [View article]
Management has refused to trim outlet numbers greatly and the outlets still vastly outnumber their branded stores. They are and remain an outlet brand with a few showcase stores as glorified display rooms. The current management refusal to change this imbalance will be the long term death knell for an historic and once venerated brand, sad.

  • The New Apple: Embracing Personalized Technology With A Luxury Twist [View article]
The Chinese in the big cities where the trends are set are much less likely to buy an Apple watch than you guys are estimating. I've been there often and the watch is seemingly perceived not the status symbol the way the iPhone is. Also they know that many Americans are not crazy about the watch and thus being the market followers that they are, they are viewing the watch similarly cautiously. This will be a gift for girlfriends and kids not a must have.
