  • A Dividend Sin: Selling Coke To Buy An Apple [View article]
I hope Apple will raise their dividend but I honestly don't know. They have no history and are legendary about keeping us in the dark.

Another hesitation I have about this being a long term hold (10+ years) is the fact that it is a technology stock, it isn't food or utilities. I can just not buy an ipad but I can't refuse to pay my power bill.

I may be getting too picky but regardless of the above cautions it's too dern cheap so I'm long AAPL

"i'm not exaggerating i mean maybe 90% of the people we see around us, in stores, family and friends, they ALL have iphones and I cannot think of a reason to move away from it?"

I should have elaborated more. I mean there is still a ton of iPhone users don't get me wrong, but the hype has been for the Android. I think most of it is because they just want to be different. I honestly don't see why one would just quite on Apple like that anyway.

It's the high schoolers I've been noticing that have been switching, and that is also just in my area, and you're right I shouldn't have made that sweeping generalization on the entire market. However when I think about it, It does seem that most adults are still sticking with Apple. The business I work for has stuck with the iPhone for our salesmen for years. Either way I still am ready for something fresh from Apple, something to blow our minds (and make us money).

I am waiting for an entry point into AAPL. This is an opportunity I may never get again, to buy AAPL at under $500, or maybe under $400 if everyone panics that AAPL didn't grow 250% who knows?

However I must be honest that I would like to see something else from Apple. The iTV just sounds bland to me, and televisions are a much bigger purchase than just a new phone. Now I don't know where Apple should go: television, gaming consoles, healthcare, etc, but I do know that it needs to separate itself from the iPhone.

No one I know is switching TO the iPhone, they are switching FROM the iPhone. As a disclosure I am very bullish on Apple and I think this sell-off is Rridiculously overdone. I may be moving into a long position soon.
