Intresting story. My Experence has been difference. I have visiting many high schools, I would mostly see students, and teachers with iPhones, when asking students about their phones, their comments would usually be "love it". You see teens today don't care if mommy or daddy or teacher etc has the same phone as them, and they made that very clear. Apple hasn't lost its "cool" value with teenagers.
Like my profile says, I have owned a large amount of AAPL since 98.

I never said Apple invented anything, I said Apple built it itself. Apple didn't have to invent it, but Apple didn't have to buy it either.

He would be right, he said 10 million units shipped to carriers, and Samsung confinement that
"AllThingsD confirmed with Samsung that Shin referred to shipments into retailers and carriers when talking about the 10 million mark."

You make a good augment, but fact is Apple still sell more iPhones than Samsung sells Galaxys. I would argue that scene size it what driving the sales of the S4. I don't see any other compelling reason why. Most of the phone memory is already used up when the end user get it into their hands, an in argument can be made that all it is, is a phone off gimmicks.

Match or not, it is clear that the majority seek the iPhone more than anything else. Their more to think about then tech spec, most don't care about the spec, they just want something simple and easy to use, and that's where the iPhone comes in. Their is also brand to, as great as the Galaxy brand is it cannot touch Apples. You leave those things out in your article. If you go to a local high school, you would see more iPhone than anything else, walk down the street in NYC, I see more iPhones that Galaxy, but I see a lot of Galaxy.

Apple has thousand of innovative employees, sure their not of the the Jobs standards, but to claim that their no innovation left at Apple, even though you have no idea what going on behind the scenes at Apple, is ridiculous!

"I have figured that a promising product for the company might be the iWatch and while I'd buy one (assuming elegant, slim style and great functionality), a lot of their existing base wouldn't. How many young adults wear watches these days?" - people said something similar to this when Apple introduced the iPad, and look what happen

"If I were leading AAPL today, I'd do something big with an acquisition, say Netflix or Hulu.... or both. After all, it's really all about content and advertising." - but your not leading Apple, Tim is, you have no idea what Apple is dreaming up, or what the company is doing behind the scenes, Apple has never gone out and bought some other company in order to get a new services, they just build it themselves. Excluding SIRI

What may be to small for you may be the perfect size for some one else! I would love to know what you mean by outdated!
"But tens of millions obviously are not. Too bad for Apple if they keep their head stuck in the sand and pretend the vast majority who want a bigger phone are wrong.." - Like you pretend that the vast majority of buyers don't want bigger screens, the size of the iPhone 5 and the size of the iPhone 4S may be perfect for them!
