  • GE Could Buy IBM And The Onion Could Buy Seeking Alpha  [View article]
ge should offer 'net based marketing of big machines to third world companies. be able to shop and ship directly from the web.

and to be able to tailor the trains and engines and other tech directly on the web to various customers reqs. (language, tech-specks, etc).

and also sell based on availability adn price too. like on zulily.com

to much stodgy, inflexible stuff about the order/delivery process of american tech.

    just a thought.

  • Ford's Turnaround Gains Traction In August  [View article]
ford managment is keeping its head where all others are trying to eat their way to the bottom via buybacks which do not invest in productivity for the future nor provide longevity for the company.

    staid is the new "glamorous".

we like staid. we like plodding along. we like getting things right slowly and surely. we like ford long term. we don't mind the slight dip. in 50 years ford will still be around. and profitable and producing and providing us jobs. will tesla or the google cars? remember vaporware back in the tech bubbles?

  • Buyers step in on Hewlett-Packard  [View news story]
i still use my 10-year old hp laptop. it was built sturdy. nowadays not so much. they seem to be building them with more plastic and with not such good resolution. we like our win 7.1 17" laptop. we like it a lot. it runs a bit hot but we put a fan underneath it and added some speakers to it. is a very happpy machiine. needed avg though. we are pleased. wish hp would make quality products in the usa again for the consumer. now that sony sold off to koreans--will their manufacturing survive the north-south war to come? sigh. we like older electronics. they improve with age. sigh.

  • Facebook Remains A Short For 2 Prime Reasons  [View article]
fb has either banned me for 60 days because i actively use the fb to help doggies get offa death row and into non-kill rescue orgs or adopted out or i have been hacked. also gay activists, environmental activists and animal rights activists have been banned or blocked frequently. mostly american and british.

we are the intriguing and useful and entertaining part of fb that if they drop us will make fewer people interested in using fb.

currently we are migrating to google+, reddit, yahoo, googlegroups, usenet newsgroups and other social media outlets like interoccupy.net

we are also reaching out to the local news and talk shows to help get dogggies good homes.

fb uses bots that ignore the content and just do stroke counts. also the banneradds added to our timelines are becoming extremely intrusive.

and more people are beginning to turn off as fb becomes more annoying and less fun and useful to use.

also many people hate the gaming solicitations which is a form of unregulated gambling that the fcc should monitor very carefully.
also the nigerian scammers and other scammers are up and running and when i reported them fb started to block me.

    not thrilled.

i think that fb will get bigger but that advertising placed on it will not lead to sales...just notoriety

a shame. it started out so optimistically.

natural gas trucks and factories might be a better use for this scary fuel.

    or solar

or developing better insulation and also using geothrermal retrofits on old-stock housing and schools.

trucking natural gas that hs been fracked leading cause of radon exposure to humans.

correlation of natural gas in households and lung cancer very high.

when will people learn. and also fracking causes blood, bone and brain cancers that are exceedingly lethal.
