I find this review very 'shortsighted'.

  • Verizon, Short-Sellers Show Strong BlackBerry Interest; Shares Tough To Borrow [View article]
I agree whole heartily. The mood up here in Canada is for BlackBerry to succeed. It has the public and political support. It would be difficult for a foreign takeover when their balance sheet is so positive. Couple that with their corporate make over completed and the BB10 being so well received (at present anyway), RIM itself would have to approach the government to be sold and I don't think that is in their immediate plans. I could be wrong but the sentiment here on the street is full support. Just my take on it.

  • Apple (AAPL +2.6%) commanded 57% of smartphone profits in Q1, and Samsung (SSNLF.PK) 43%, estimates Canaccord's Mike Walkley. All other OEMs collectively broke even, after having lost money last year. Apple's profit share is down from 2012's 69%, and Samsung's up from 2012's 34% - chalk those changes up to Samsung's share gains and Apple's gross margin decline. Walkley also writes Samsung's Galaxy S4 is off to a strong start (in spite of some reports of overheating), that checks indicate U.S. BlackBerry Z10 (BBRY +0.7%) sales are soft, and that U.K. Q10 supplies have been limited. [View news story]
57% + 43% = 100%! No one else sold any smartphone's? Is this guy serious?

  • BlackBerry Short Sellers Can Learn From Tesla Motors [View article]
I don't know of anyone who has tried a Z10 who doesn't realize how cutting edge and nice it is to use. I agree with your thoughts on the Iphone. My wife has one. It is a nice old phone with some great apps, but the new BlackBerry is the future. It is fun to use the OS once again.

  • Management Turnover Complete At BlackBerry [View article]
The first step in any successful company is development of a good marketable product. The Z10 (including the QNX OS) is the best technology product on the planet today. That is undeniable, but no product will survive if it isn't marketed properly and that will be the next test for BlackBerry. I fully believe that they will execute flawlessly.
    Thanks for your article.

  • BlackBerry Bottoms Up, Bottoms In [View article]
I wonder if you can explain very briefly how selling their manufacturing arm will be beneficial? Right now (even at a loss) they get the devices at cost, plus have complete control over quality and cost. If someone else makes them do they not sell to BlackBerry at a profit which they then have to mark up? How do they come out better off?
Thanks for your article. I enjoy reading them as they are well written and honest.

I agree. They will most likely take over Apple, rename the company to "Bruised Apple" and then go after Samsung. In fact RIMM is now called BBRY. You've got the 'sight'.

  • Brand Revival: London's Financial Times Coos Over BlackBerry's Z10 [View article]
Agreed! Good article explaining the reasons BlackBerry has a decent chance of success. It puts into focus the value of having a third OS available and why the cellular networks are so excited about BB10. Explaining the history and limitations in Apple, Microsoft and Adriod makes a good case for going long on BlackBerry. Kudos for not using one cliche throughout the whole article.

Wouldn't want to mention names. Keep it as vague as possible. Good job at spewing out more rhetoric and keeping the facts to a minimum. I'm still open minded but can't put much meaning when your basis for your point is 'TOP SECRET '.

Thanks for the honest input. I agree with all of your points. Remember Jim Cramer's comments (on camera) how his hedge fund regularly 'leaked' lies about RIM in order to instil fear into the weak minded investor.
