Everyone deserves to invest their money in the safest, most flexible way possible, without paying huge fees or sacrificing meaningful returns. Hedgewise strives to become the first wealth manager to take the best ideas from hedge funds and institutions and make them available to anyone, while keeping fees low and capital requirements to a minimum. There have been tremendous innovations in finance over the past decade which have only benefited a select few, and we believe it is time for that to change.
As I'm a long-term investor, I'll highlight some stockpicks which will have a 5-7 year investment horizon. As I strongly believe a portfolio should consist of a mixture of dividend-paying stocks and growth stocks, my articles will reflect my thoughts on this mixture.
Jim Kelleher, CFA, is Director of Research at Argus Research and the author of “Equity Valuation for Analysts & Investors,” (McGraw-Hill, July 2010), a single-volume treatment of financial modeling and blended valuation technique. As an equity analyt, Jim is a three-time winner in The Wall Street Journal's “Best on the Street” All-Star Analyst Survey and has also won recognition in the Financial Times/Starmine analyst awards. As Research Director, Jim manages several model portfolios; manages the company’s Portfolio Selector/Focus List; prepares and oversees the Argus daily Technical Analysis product; was instrumental in devising Argus’ first branded investment product; and has helped develop and refine the investment analysis process and model “template” for new analysts.
Contrarian daytrading technician who specializes in locating high probability short term trades while predicting price movement directions with over 85% accuracy. Most of my trading involves either extremely short term micro scalping of stocks or commodities (using 1 minute bar charts), or swing trading of stocks overnight. I also specialize in weekly stock option premium selling, along with pre-market and post-market psuedo market maker and stealth trading activity, and selling commodity option strangles (selling delta neutral pairs of far out-ot-the-money puts and calls), with the intent to achieve a steady 1% weekly return. After 32 years, well battle tested, very opportunitistic while putting capital preservation as tantamount.
Rehabilitation Counselor over 20 years, M.S., M.B.A., now an around-the-clock speculator. Incorporate seasonals, time of day, and other patterns and methods where high probability price movement patterns can be statistically forecast. Know how to safely go long high beta, heavily shorted stocks; know how and when to use extremes in sentiment to take the other side. I like to fade extreme moves as my proprietary methods are based on reversion to the mean theory. Developed my own scale trading and money management techniques. Will change and adapt my trading style based on current market conditions.
I hope to start a chatroom devoted to teaching speculators how to see and capture daytrading opportunities. They say that those who can...do, while those who can't....teach. I want to provide teaching from someone who really can do, someone who knows how to make steady returns while experiencing minimal drawdowns. As a mentor, I would love to share my knowledge and support to help small traders. I came from humble beginnings and have never forgotten it. I want to accelerate the learning curve of my chatroom students so they won't have to make all the mistakes that I have over the years. I am excellent at devising and implementing strategies that can quickly turn a losing trade into a net winner.

PortfoliV.com is an investment portal project based on running a set of virtual hedge funds. The aim is to build an investment portal based on actual trades made rather than textual commentaries.14 virtual funds based on a variety of themes are managed by the site owner on strict real-life conditions including real-time bid and ask prices, commissions and margin calls.
Site visitors are able to comment on the trades and follow Fund performances. As the site builds a certain amount of feedback the aim is to aggregate these responses and integrate them into the Fund trading decisions. This way the site aims to transform itself onto what can be called an "OpenSource Virtual HedgeFund" that is transparent, but utilizes all sorts of trading techniques used in common Hedge Funds.
The site owner, and the main trader so far, is an independent trader with 10 years of trading experience. He splits the year evenly between living in the US, Europe and Middle East and therefore can make informed trading decisions on a variety of developments in the world especially forex issues.
