  • Junior gold miner Jaguar Mining (JAG -16.7%) comments on unusual trading in its stock, saying it is unaware of any developments that would "merit such activity." The stock seems destined for OTC Bulletin Board, -87% YTD and trading at $0.80. (PR)  [View news story]
Crazy. Company has assets of well over 2.5 million ounces of Gold. At this price sells at about $15 an ounce of Gold. However, the Cash Cost of production is over $850 an ounce. At this price it is like buying a Call option on gold with no expriation Date. JAG is the same company that sold for 8+ times this price a year ago.

  • 2 Small Cap Copper Plays With A Hedge [View article]
Good analysis. I am a retired attorney and have read the court opinions on Revett. (RVM) The Courts continues to side with RVM. And it appears that RVM is able to comply with the court requirements. The Company has a new (Jun 2012 ) presentation to see on its web site. Also the Conpany is very good with timely press releases. I am currently buying RVM. I see it as a Profitable Producer at Troy, with infrastructure in place, reduced risk with a small hedge in copper. Also I see it as a "Call Option" with no expiration date on its Rock Creek assets ( 300 mil. ounces silver, 2+ bil. lbs. copper .) With the Silver price currently down, RVM's stock price is at a "Sweet spot."

  • How Will Gold React To Operation Twist? [View article]
Superb article and thinking. I believe you are correct. Operation Twist does NOT actually expand money supply, whereas QE expands money supply.

  • Jaguar Mining Shares Surge, What You Need To Know [View article]
Good Concise Summary. JAG has assets. The Market Capitalization is so low that the assets are priced very low (currently less than $50 a P+P ounce) However the Cash Cost of production is between $800 - $900 an ounce. I own JAG, I too believe it is speculative and believe there may eventually get another offer but probably between $4.00 - $5.00. Their plan to reduce annual cost will help. I believe JAG will double before the end of the 2012, to over $3.00 a share. But I do not believe JAG will moving above $4.00 for a long time.

  • Sandstorm Gold: Reaching Critical Mass [View article]
I have owned SSL for years along with larger Stream / Royalty Compaines: RGLD, FNV and SLW. In the last couple of years it has appreciated so well, that I thought of taking profits, but never got around to it. Lucky for me. Due to growth estimates, I will continue to hold for a few more years. Several years ago, I thought SSL would be a buy-out target for one of the larger stream / royaltiy companies, RGLD, FNV or SLW, (as was GLW, Gold Wheaton) and that Could still happen. But the higher the SSL share price goes the less likely it will be taken over. Still, due to the very high stream / royalty growth projected for 2012 and 2013, I expect SSL to be priced near $3.00 at end of 2012 and higher than $3.00 in 2013. Remember that even IF the Gold spot price is flat, SSL's profits will continue to grow due to increased streams / royalties and thus the share price should still increase. However, If Gold's spot price increases, than SSL will enjoy a more positive "multiplier" effect.
