  • Micron NAND: Clean And Sober [View article]
Always enjoy and appreciate the articles you have written about MU. Still have Jan 2017, and 2016 in the money calls and see nothing to change my mind. MU just has to get started (and the next ER should help) for it to hit the numbers I'm anticipating. A lot of the problem for several years was the lack of explanations from the companies management. They are improving and the new CFO should help.

Ideology over reality is a poor excuse for rational thought. No matter how positive these previous comments may seem (if you can follow them) the world beats to a different drummer. Self interest is what it will always be about. Next!

  • First Solar - The Trough Is In [View article]
There is always a contest in the market between reality and perception. In the case of FSLR, the perception is currently bearish. I agree with the reality aspect of your article but see that more people feel differently about it. The next earnings report will be the critical one to potentially change the current bias. Still, I appreciate your analysis.

  • Take Two's Evolve: Scathing Reviews And Sub-Par Sales [View article]
Appreciate all your effort in sharing details and overall insight. I agree with your conclusions and still hold my shares and will probably add as the news yesterday was better than I hoped for. I would only add that by way of comparison to movies, the critics/reviewers are often not as in sync with viewers/users as it may appear or that they would like. So far, so good.

  • First Solar - More Questions Than Answers [View article]
I agree with the two previous comments but to be fair, articles like this have a value in pointing out what may be ahead and possible issues. I am long FSLR and think management is on the case. I think the upcoming results will bare that out.

  • The PC Collapse Applies To Tablets As Well [View article]
Good broad over view of what is heading our way. However, there is many a slip twixt cup and lip. I am no fan of Windows/Microsoft but until Win10 arrives, all is just guesswork. I agree with Hunter 012, but it doesn't apply to all situations. Linux/Android/Google Chrome, etc., is taking a big chunk out of the Windows territory but how much is the question. Right now this is a USA centric issue. In Europe and Asia it is already a non-Windows world but that could be mitigated by Win10, Surface Pro type devices. The speed of change has really accelerated with Smart Phones being a computer killer.

  • Here's Why Apple Is Weak Since Earnings [View article]
The decline has been market driven. Just look at all the quality names hammered. The argument assumes that management is clueless and we know they are not that. Sooner than later there will be more choice in phones, watches, tablets and laptops. They can't always have quarters that reflect a rollout of a product like the latest iphone but do not assume they aren't working on the next big thing. Originally I was skeptical of Icahn's push but with the increased dividend and stock buyback, they insulate themselves from big negative moves. Again, it's the management, stupid!

  • Disney: Outperformance Expected To Reverse [View article]
As has been said, of all the choices of companies, I'll take DIS with its dividend and ability to come up with successful films and park entertainment. Underperform the market -- not likely for a while, but it can happen at some point in time. Wouldn't worry about it. It's like Apple and may even be a better investment. I'll stick with both for forseable future.

  • European Commission Trying To Take A Bite Out Of Apple - Should Investors Worry? [View article]
This is a Long Long term risk, not to be ignored but not to be taken as something that will have an effect anytime soon. Europe has a way of moving very very slow plus the fact that they will be forcing countries who rely on their tax structure to change, which will not be appreciated by those countries. Long way to go on this.

  • FireEye: Increasing Dominance In The Cybersecurity Arena [View article]
C'mon, we aren't discussing a risk free (relatively) stock with a dividend. This is definitely a speculative play but they do have revenue growth, so you decide if that's enough for the moment to warrant a buy. If you wait for earnings to catch up, you will pay a lot more. It's simple. Is this an industry you like and within it, who has the "special sauce." That's it. The back and forth about earnings is not the the issue now, later maybe.

  • Intel Inside Microsoft HoloLens And Windows Phone [View article]
They were both late to the mobile party but with time they will make their mark. I never doubted that they would, it has only been about "how long." Seems we are getting closer. I like the 2017 Jan LEAPs and the Jan 2016s as well.

  • Apple: Zenith Behind Us, Nadir On The Horizon [View article]
This is like climate change deniers -- don't confuse me with the facts. Your premise is flawed and, in fact, your quoted market share, etc., are just not accurate. The only one that was correct was for the ipad and that may change with a refresh from Apple.

  • Visa: Overvalued In The Short Term, Fantastic Investment In The Long Term [View article]
I hope "great minds" think alike because I too did exactly the same thing (as Grisly also) and bought both SBUX pre split and V, same idea. Both are in profit so far but I didn't do it for the short run gain but for the longer term investment to anchor my growth portfolio.

  • Twitter's Sell-Off Is Your Opportunity To Buy On Weakness [View article]
I agree with your premise and your follow up comment. It does remind me of FB and I heard the same over valuation, where is the monetization with them? Look at FB now and they do make real money. I fear the difference is in the management. Twitter has been floundering for a year with little to show for it. FB got right much faster and I never doubted that they had a good game plan. Not sure with TWTR. Right now it looks like they "get it," but that has happened before. I think the CEO must go, as he has clearly not delivered. How many chances should we expect? I don't mind holding a small spec position but that's all anyone should be doing.

  • Micron Technology: Given Future Potential, Patience Is A Virtue [View article]
A very good thorough article. With some of the additional input (Tidwell) you covered the big picture. I am in complete agreement. It's called investing and not trading. I would not be so sure of exactly where the turnaround begins or when certain changes take place in the technology, but I am sure that in time and at the current valuation, MU will rise. I have used 2017 LEAPs and 2016 calls to be involved.
