  • Is A Bird In Hand Better Than Dividends In The Bush? [View article]
    Dave -

A huge, huge BULLSEYE right here re your comment. You are 100% spot-on.

We are all corporations. We have a two-sided balance sheet and an income statement. Run your life as you'd run a corporation (assuming you'd run it properly) and you're 90% of the way there.

    Great, great comment, Dave.

    Hi Chuck,

Can you confirm the fact that, when owning UL (as opposed to UN), there are no taxes withheld at the local level (domestic account) if stock is held in a taxable account?

    Thank you.

  • Dividend Growth Portfolio Semi-Annual Review: Pretty Boring Stuff... The Dividends Just Keep Increasing (Yawn) [View article]
    David -

Another excellent, helpful article. I'm a fan of yours and a follower.

One minor caveat: You've eliminated your photo and replaced it with the Bills' insignia. I'm a diehard Jet fan. The Bills are a resurgent team (so far) while the Jets are reeling. "You" and "I" still have two meetings on the field this season. It'll be tough to have to look at the Bills' logo whenever I read an article of yours!!!

However....my allegiance to Div Growth investing will always outweigh my pigskin preferences, so I'll continue to follow you religiously! Your contributions to SA are invaluable.

Lastly, in the name of good sportsmanship: best of luck this season! :-)

  • Interview With Chuck Carnevale: Why Valuation Matters For Buy And Hold Dividend Investors [View article]
Carnevale + Van Knapp = Superman + Batman teaming up. Great combination!

Regarding most Dividend Income threads on SA, I have a simple rule:

Follow Fish, Van Knapp, Schwartz, Tweed, Crosetti, FivePlus, and several others (forgive me for not listing all) whom we would all agree are well-informed, respected, COURTEOUS, and provide value to SA's readers. Ignore those (we know who they are) who are uninformed, belligerent, combative and/or inflexible in their thinking.

We Dividend Zealots are a great group. We have a common interest. And, fortunately for us, we have a number of wonderful writers and commenters who combine their thoughts and ideas to help us reac that common goal of income via dividend growers.

    'Nuff said.

As I've stated in posts for other article, we should call ourselves The Dizzies (phonetic derivation of "DZ").

    Norman,

    Excellent article!

We (Dividend Zealots, of which I am one) should simply call ourselves The Dizzies (the somewhat-phonetic derivative of "DZ"). We need an easily-identifiable moniker!

I am a Dizzy - and happy to be one!

  • Debunking Dividend Agnostic Assumptions: Here's What Really Makes Income Investors Tick [View article]
Perfectly worded, succinctly explained article on what DG investors seek. There's no magic potion to what we (DG Investors) do - but we ("we" being the DG Investors referred to in this article) definitely understand what we're doing, why we're doing it, and what we seek via the process. That's what makes us what we are - and why this article works so well. Thank you for the time and effort that went into this piece.
