For the stockholder; Pfizer's tax rate drops from 28 to 21%. That means more than a $billion per year in revenues derived from the merger. I'm long PFE in my IRA so it looks good to me. The stock should really pop if it happens. Plus it might teach our greedy politicians a good lesson.

hko2012, you do offend me because of "many aspects".
You criticize me for being subjective and then come back with subjective comments. Where is your data? What aspects?
My comments about the Apple computers, phones and Routers are valid.
If your "many aspects" are beyond that, so be it.
I'm talking about what I know from personal experience..
    Trust me, I'm not embarrassed.

I'm sorry hko to offend you. What do you want from me? Controlled studies?
i am a retired physician and can't give you numbers. But my son, who runs his own computer corporation keeps me on the cutting edge. He monitored the speed of the 4 WIFI routers I owned and Apple was by far the fastest. Thus far it has proven to be the most reliable. Four because the other three were pieces of sh--. The computer comments speak on their own. If you think PC's can compare then you, not me, are living in your own world.
I've tried numerous phones and I believe, along with most of the world, that Apple makes the best. If you feel Samsung makes a better product then, by all means, buy it. I disagree, By the way, where is your data?

Thank you Ashraf for a good article and certainly valid comments.
I'm long AAPL, I also buy a new I-Phone whenever they come out because it saves me time and money. i own only Apple computers because there is nothing even close in quality and technology. There are no viruses and they maintain their speed indefinitely without tune-ups. I own the Apple router for my WIFI because nothing else comes close in speed and reliability.
If Apple makes it, I would not consider buying another brand, The people I know who own Apple products routinely feel the same. Apple customer loyalty is a gift that goes on giving to the company, the consumer and hopefully the shareholder. Tim Cook is not going to do something stupid because of a shareholder's point of view. He has a plan and will not change it unless it is in the company's best interest.
Apple's moat is indeed deep and wide. Why it's not an $800+ stock is beyond me and beyond most analyst's. comprehension But based on fundamentals and evauations, it should be and will be an incredible investment. Icahn is simply a shareholder. Tim Cook was hand picked by Steve Jobs with good reason. He will do what they have been doing. Coming out with mind blowing products and increasing market share while maintaining outstanding margins.
It's time to come out of the closet my man Yes, the broader market does care about amazingly slick operating systems and beautiful industrial designs, Time is money and money talks.

  • ModernGraham Valuation Of Gilead Sciences [View article]
It's hard to apply this type of valuation to companies like Giliad. The hepatitis C drug alone can generate up to $6 billion per year. Historical data has little to do with present or future stock price. What's past is past. The incredible drug pipeline of this company will produce a ton of money. PEG is a more accurate predictor of future earnings than PE. It's the future growth that's driving the price up. This article is simply irrelevant for evaluating GILD.

  • Time To Take A Look At Sears Hometown And Outlet Stores Again [View article]
If you look for major appliances on the internet, SHOS is well represented and is routinely the low cost provider. Forget customer loyalty. Money talks. Where do you get the 2--3X overvalued? I'm finding the opposite. At $25, this looks like a 3 bagger to me.

  • Apple (AAPL -1.4%) could strike iRadio deals with Warner Music and Universal within the next week, CNET's Paul Sloan reports. He adds Apple's service will provide studios with fresh monetization options, such as a cut of audio ad revenue and an option for users to buy songs they're listening to. In-line with earlier reports, Apple is said to be baking in unique features, such as "the ability to jump back to the beginning of a song." Last week, The Verge reported Apple is shooting for a summer launch, while noting the music industry has a "love-hate relationship" with Pandora (P -3.6%). [View news story]
    All well and good.
But Apple still needs to raise the dividend and buy back shares, period.

  • "We believe that Apple (AAPL) will launch the iPhone 5S at China Mobile (CHL) this July, as it launches the next iteration of the iPhone globally," writes Wedge Partners' Brian Blair, without elaborating on his sources. The remarks come a little less than 3 months after Apple and China Mobile signed a confidentiality agreement. Blair sees a 5S model supporting China Mobile's TD-SCDMA 3G network likely entering production in May. (WSJ report[View news story]
    yes please
But Apple also needs more innovations.
thats where they are dropping the ball.
can we resurrect Steve Jobs please.
I held it through thick and thin too.
    Time to be rewarded,
