  • Obama's Speech Struck the Right Tone [View article]
You sound like a typical republican, maybe your solution to this banking problem is to go back to King Bush and let him & Paulson solve it. Jesus the guy Obama couldn't do any worse than what we have had in the past and maybe you should consider it better to ponder before you leap off a cliff, God wake up any move at this jucture could turn out to be disasterous, this is a problem that clearly needs a lot of thought, not jumping in and getting wet.

  • Did the Fed Miss the Housing Decline? [View article]
My hat is off to Ira I think he is to the point too many of our government and non governmental groups are just not working or at least seem to make things say what they want. Time to answer to the American people, not King Bush

  • $2.58 and Counting [View article]
Congrats to jcrash you got it right, sure energy and commodities have come down. Don't the authors realize that commodities always come down right after harvest time, it is the one time of the year that supply is at its highest, so what a convenient time to take a measure. By using commodities wholesale price you get a much better reading, think the authors might be part of the republican administration, they read like they are, plenty of well and strategically picked numbers arranged at the right time of the year and you get what you want on a chart. Let them go to the retail price and see what happens to the chart. it certainly will not fall as indicated. This is just another example of republican spin to make it look like they didn't steal all that much while they were leaving. No wonder all the news media, economist , political commentators, and other republican bullshit artist what another shot, they need it to support their high price salaries and life styles while the working man just gets poorer.

  • Our Coming Depression [View article]
To Mr Quinn, thank you at least someone has enought intelligence left to look at this situation in the manner it should be, I think you are on track, but like to add that your kindness to the political power of the last 8 years is large. The mantra of the free market from the republicans and the quiet disappearance of regulatory controls planned and executed by the republican party will take this country to the brink and beyond. The free market needed to be sold so that the big money boys could wheel and deal. This wheeling and dealing including the lies and illegal behaviour was then able to hide behind a president who viewed it with a protective free market posture (mainly a deniability stance) and a republican congress being paid off in indiredt and direct method ranging from jobs after the fact to direct campaign contributions that they could retire with, Check Phil Gramms campagn funds/retirement . and yes there were a few democrats that got outside what I might call an honest though process, they were a few but the main fault lies with the present administration and the republican congress of the last 8 years or so. Make no mistake in my book the republicans had the power and could have stopped this back at the first, They claim to be so smart now but didn't know then, that is a load of crap, they knew it all along they just needed the time to steal as much as the could, what a parting gift give Goldman another 700 billion

To Bassmaster17 oh my god,ORielly reincarnate, Think, even if Frank had 10 friends it could not have started this, but the question no one asks is why didn't Bush and the briliiant cronies see this coming and use their political power to stop it, Because their greed got in the way and they took home the lions share along with the boys at Goldman S

  • Bailout: Here's How to Fix the Fix [View article]
You sound more like a republican, why not let the republican party line of the free market solve this incredible pile of crap that has been created by the free market system. Wall Street , stock brokers, bankers and investment houses caused this, let them solve it. They could sell a few of their houses BMW.s, luxury boats and use some of their golden parachutes, stock options and off shore money to fund the initial money your plan calls for and they do like the special tax breaks
