  • Arena's Lorcaserin: Weighed Down by Qnexa and Meridia [View article]

Authors certainly have more control over insta-blog content than articles.
While the ultimate decision to leave comments up or to delete, rests with the editorial staff of Seeking Alpha, authors may request and get deletions. It appears very likely that is what happened here. No other explanation thus far so we don’t know for sure…

Clearly, the exchange of comments was quite heated on all sides. And maybe TOU was violated by several sides. My comments conceivably drilled down too much for this venue, and so were decided to be out of place.

I’ll not again go into details of the TOU I think Joe may have violated- A person could look around and perhaps read between the lines.

I believe things spun out of Joe’s control, there was heated posting by several people.

I may not agree with the removal of the comments here, but I along with all SA users agree to the following:
“Seeking Alpha has the right in its sole discretion and without further notice to you, to monitor, censor, edit, move, delete, and/or remove any and all Content posted on its Site…”

Per WIKI: One form of corporate censorship is achieved when editors in media outlets disrupt or discontinue the flow of information thought to causes the company or its business partners to be seen in a way detrimental to business.

I guess the removed comments were perceived to be detrimental to business. And I guess that is all!

    R.I.P. "Telsa Rowe"

I think that Seeking Alpha staffers have had it with "him", his aliases, his accusations of civil rights violations and threats of law suits.

I forecast a 95% chance that this "project" will not be actively promoted again.

If he actually continues to promote, I predict a 100% chance of the following issues continuing to obfuscate facts.

1- He shows no name or account number- not even partial ones. That way would have protected his ID but allowed some small verification of his identity and account activity.

2- He showed no account history. This to verify the same account being used and to track the funds in that account for obvious reasons.

My strong belief and hope is that we shall see no attempt to rectify the above and that Telsa "has left the building".

    So, as I wrote:

I pointed out that putting in writing that he has lawyers in hand, ready to take action against the very company providing the forum for his writing and escapades is FAR from the right or intelligent thing to do.

  • Vivus, Arena and Orexigen Investors All Worried About Qnexa FDA Panel Review [View article]
    I just noticed your comment;

I was in long for the run-up and did quite well. I purchased deep in the money puts the day before the panel and did even better. I had every intention to short it from the very beginning. This was based on my personal and professional assessment of key elements of the entire situation.

What I didn't do is post "quasi-scientific/prof... evaluations of the drugs, studies, or situation. I let a few people know my thoughts and that's it.

I do not state my credentials for good reasons. One major concern is that I believe these articles (not just Krueger's) reach many online investors, and when content is perceived to be professionally generated, it can and does sway online investor sentiment to one degree or another. Likely, this sway occurs more readily than if the same was generated by just a fellow share holder or an investor with an opposite view. My opinion on this is based on being part of online investing/trading community from the start, and seeing the depth of information available to, and used by the typical individual.

I prefer to offer my opinions as simply an investor and not put my credentials forward as the reason people should pay more attention to what I write.

For instance; I uncovered information that could be perceived as a severe conflict of interest. It would possibly lead to investigation of one of these posters' work place, to ascertain who knew what, and if there was more than simply private interests involved.

Personally, I will wait for more information before even contemplating any action on the matter. I think many investors with the same information would not be as restrained. That is the type of situation I will not put myself in.

I believe there will, in the near future, come a more strictly enforced standard for those who publish online and for the companies which allow such publishing; it may be close to what we see for registered security analysts and print publications presently.

    "Jerome,"

For one thing, at this point, I've sold all positions in JAZZ other than being long a few Dec $7.50 puts purchased as part of a hedge for more recent calls $10 calls which I doubled on, including the price of hedge.

I could even be short before the day is out- It's not your position or whether you make or lose money-that is at issue- It's the manner in which you are doing it that is at issue.

I would not have a problem with what you are doing if you were not lying about your identity and using various screen names here and elsewhere to "enhance" the project you are engaged in.

I have a problem with you saying you're an analyst and then providing no information regarding that claim as require by federal law.

You are not an MD- You are not an analyst. You did not predict the last 100 or so FDA decisions correctly.

To be fair, many others on this site claiming to be a PhD, MD or the such are engaged in similar activities, and when my attention is diverted by this, I have spoken out about it.

So here is an offer - I'll cease my activities of uncovering what you are if you simply come clean.

Offer the truth, I think people would be cool with things if you did that.

I hope you choose to do the right thing - as your present course will lead to embarrassment and perhaps more.

    Kind Regards;

All of the fresh new screen IDs commenting and complementing here and on other sites are quite a "nice touch" - It's happened before though...

There may be concern about the number of "analysts" allowed to be pumping and/or bashing with no regard for proper identification or regulatory disclosures here on Seeking Alpha, here is is some info:

  • Three Trades on FDA, Clinical Trial Binary Events [View article]
    Hi dual cit;
Your comment makes me curious- at first glance it seems like there is perhaps some ongoing quarrel between you and Mike, but when I checked I saw that Mike has not taken exception to your self-centered criticisms... But I will.

I have no affiliation with Mike or his company / website mikehavrx.com -other than finding it and the affiliated biorunup.com to be extremely helpful. These sites offer information, at a stop or two, which would take quite some time and effort for the individual investor to collect and correlate.

Here are your comments to/about Mike; in chronological order. The articles, dates, my comments then your quotes.

FDA, Clinical Trial Calendar Updates: Genzyme, Isis, Osiris, Roche, Watson
    Mike Havrilla April 23, 2009
One of your 1st posts and your first post regarding Mike; No explanation or examples- Just this pretty strong and seemingly definitive statement on your part concerning this author. While we get the idea, the details are a bit jumbled or lost...
    YOU SAID:
“After careful review, I find your services are a danger to investors as they offer little real analysis of companies mentioned. I a professional with 30 years experience in the biotech investment world I am saddened that or Constitution, though rightfully so, caused worthless and dangerous publishers like yourself to exist.”

    ImmunoCellular's Promising Brain Cancer Vaccine
    Mike Havrilla October 28, 2009
A few months later you seemed to have forgotten about your earlier stated position regarding this writer… HMMMM...
    YOU SAID:
“Nice report. Good analysis. Clearly this one should be 3 times its present price. Very surprised the VC's are not all over it. “

BioMed Updates: Merck KGaA, BioMarin, Cytori and Theravance
    Mike Havrilla November 30, 2009
Here, it really seems that you might be getting fed some information from others, because you make these statements only a month after the above comment. You said: "You once provided"... Was that a month ago, or 7 months ago when you described the author as a “worthless and dangerous publisher”
    YOU SAID:
“You are beginning to tell us things we can find out on our own. You once provided some value added.”

Mentor Capital Cancer Vaccine Investing Update
    | by: Mike Havrilla December 23, 2009 | about: AGEN / BVTI.PK / CLDX / CVM / DNDN / IMUC.OB / INO / MKGAY.PK
There was a relatively thorough comment made about IMUC (it was one of several UPDATES) You said; The author has "forgotten his value"- To whom? To you, in mentioning this single company correct? He has been bringing scores of companies to wider attention and providing valuable information.

    YOU SAID:
“Mike, you really have dropped the ball on IMUC. Apparently you are too busy promoting yourself and have forgotten your value here.”

    BTW:
I noticed more recently that you seem to have a cutting interest in IMUC, you derided a well written article about KERX with an off-topic comment/revelation about what may be part of your motivation in these comments:
    YOU SAID:
“If KERX is worth $600M then IMUC is worth $20 a share now. The future of cancer is immunotherapy.”

That sure is a very authoritative declaration about the future, and here I was thinking cancer is actually many illnesses for which several lines of treatment have shown promise…

Many Reasons to Launch a Global Generic Drug ETF
    Mike Havrilla December 24, 2009
At this point it becomes clear that you have taken a factional position and are writing from someone else’s gut, you say: “Regain credibility”, is that what you are affording Mike above??
You say: “We value your insight”- who is we?
You also present the inane comment: “Your BioReports offers little to those that know this market.”

BTW: Mike is no longer involved with that outfit and is running the company I mentioned above.

You have proclaimed yourself a 30-year veteran of this market did you not stop to think these articles are perhaps, not written for you? Perhaps these are written to assist the average investor in understanding a highly technical and often times confusing sector.
Did you think? Hey, 30-year vet, YOU write what you want to see, rather than criticizing this and other authors’ articles.
    YOU SAID:
“Mike, if you spend a little less time promoting yourself and got back to doing what you once did offering some fresh analysis rather than regurgitating news we all get, you may regain some credibility here. For example, IMUC is something you once liked and is breaking out today. Where have you been ? Where were your comments on the very well done, non-dilutive preferred stock deal they pulled off ? Kudos to the CFO for engineering that one. Your BioReports offers little to those that know this market. Get back to digging and providing value added information. Use your knowledge rather than report on something that has already been reported. We value your insight. That is what we want.”

Healthcare Conference Updates: Cytori, Auxilium, Keryx, Cell Therapeutics
    Mike Havrilla January 17, 2010
And here, your affiliation and faction becomes a bit more clear:
    YOU SAID:
“Looks like Havrilla got his touche handed to him by a liberal arts major like Feuerstein. Mike has been spending too much time on things he knows little about instead of things he has studied and has some valued contributions. Hey Mike ! Get back to your focus before you lose more credibility.”

Three Trades on FDA, Clinical Trial Binary Events
    Mike Havrilla July 21, 2010
I have to question your self proclaimed knowledge when you make a broad statement that contradicts some very basic strategies used in trading this sector- I have many times seen PII and PIII outcomes make or break PPS.
    YOU SAID:
“Mike, you once attempted to find good biotech companies based on the research they were conducting. What happened ? This information here is readily available to everyone and offers little value. Trading on "trial binary events" is no way to make real money.”

My guess is that you will have something different to say when the clinical trial involves IMUC!

I take exception with your comments about this author- not with you dual cit.

In my opinion, it’s good to be able to have some assistance in understanding PRs, announcements and previous results, from someone with real practical and scholarly knowledge.

Seriously, you seem to be very long and strong with IMUC- why not use some of that experience and post an article about it?!

    Kindest Wishes;

Median is very typically used as a mean is impossible to use while people are still alive-

So apparently, in all of the clinical studies of lifesaving drugs that you have "deeply studied" you have seen the mean used, eh? By definition this can only be used when all of the results are known - i.e. all patients dead... Are you sure you don't want to rethink your bashing?
