  • My K.I.S.S. Dividend Portfolio 3rd Quarter Update [View article]
As always, impressive portfolio and results PTI. I'm looking for decent entry prices for a couple of the stocks mentioned. I know Chowder would just say buy the quality stocks now, but it's difficult without much cash!

    Great article PTI.

You say you bought equal positions in each stock. I'll assume that includes the MLPs, REITs and utilities.

Please get informed greengirl64 - you sound as bad as the media!

The Keystone pipeline is planned to connect multiple reserves - Canadian and American. And then sure, some crude oil will probably go to US seaports destined for Europe (but then it will be competing with cheaper Gulf crude oil) but the majority will go to to multiple refineries in Illinois, Oklahoma, and Texas. Also the climate changing effects of it are also blown out of proportion. Consider: 1) Electricity plants powered by coal in the U.S. generate almost 40 times more greenhouse-gas emissions than Canada's oil sands (the coal-fired electricity plants in the State of Wisconsin alone produce the equivalent of the entire GHG emissions of the oil sands). 2) California bitumen is more GHG-intensive than the oil sands.
