  • BlackBerry: Don't Let The Smoke And Mirrors Fool You [View article]
    Reminding all of the obvious (there's no way a sale of BlackBerry would ever be permitted by the Canadian Government), and grounding those whose thoughts may have been running away from them on this rumor). Excellent, to the point and factual article. Above all, hello! Reality check everyone!

  • Loeb's BlackBerry Purchase Is A Major Catalyst And A Vote Of Confidence [View article]
    I'm confident that many writer's have their articles ready and on stand by with twisted theories and speculative fear factor angles on Loebs move. They will launch them strategically timed on 'BlackBerry Tuesday'; so predictably. We'll see how much influence they have on the movement of the stock It will be a very interesting day. Glad I have my trusty Z30 so I can monitor the action while at work.

    @9869551 You must get the Z30! You will not regret it. It is an incredible device. I am in awe. I had the iphone prior to this and it pales in comparison. My sister had a Samsung and we had to almost hold her down at times to stop her from beating the phone to a pulp from frustration with poor touch screen response and typing. She has since switched to the Z30 and memories of her trying to box in the ring with her smartphone are now...well.. memories. You have to be open to learning the new BB10 platform. It does not take long, and once you get the swing of it, you will wonder how you ever lived without it. The swiping on the touchscreen can be compared to being as smooth as melted butter. Speed is lightening fast. You can also have 8 apps open at the same time so you never lose a window by going to a home button to back out all the time. And the confidence in having such a secure device, it's a high quality rock solid device, sleek and sexy. Best of all 25 hour battery life (it's no exaggeration). The sound quality can't even be explained in words. I could go on and on, it just doesn't end. You will become a 'black crack' addict. Sorry if I got too carried away everyone!!

    @jjtom.

    You are correct. Skype is used in our meetings to have workers present in the meetings through Skype who are working remotely and God help me. It is a joke to say the least. Making initial contact is a joke to start. The 'video' call drops at least 2 or 3 times (sometimes more).

    Funny part is when the connection drops, many times no one notices and the meeting goes on. After all the nitty gritty is covered someone will notice the screen and that someone has dropped 'Oh no, Fred is gone'. LOL..sigh. A large part of the meeting is spent trying to trouble shoot the connection and attempt to re-connect. It is such a joke.

    And here I have my Z30 in my pocket and sitting with a bunch of pro iphoners at the table. It sounds bad to say, but I can't help have thoughts like I feel like I am of superior intelligence. I then have fantastical thoughts; I hope I never have to group together with this bunch to create a master plan of escape in any situation where our lives may be at stake. In these moments I feel like I have the business communications 'anti venom' but nobody wants to be saved lol. Just incredible.

    Hence this is where the only word to describe the state of many who are spewing negative sentiment on BlackBerry and those ignorant enough to gobble it all up, I conclude they may be in a deep psyche state of 'Denialism' which will take some genius maneuvering on John Chen's part to overcome. But I am confident that he is the man for such a job.

    Also, conversations about Z30 have escalated. I'm finding people are taking interest in my device and are asking me questions. "Can it do this?" "Can it do that?" "Is it true about the battery life?" etc. This is a far improvement over statements I was getting only months ago..."You're crazy! That company is going belly up". So I have seen interest and curiosity replacing the 'Talk to the Hand' reactions. I see this as progress!

    @Frank Amen to that. I also have a Z30, and prior to that I'm a little embarrassed to admit I had an iPhone. I came upon the BlackBerry hype with the new BB10 platform and after educating myself and studying the platform, it's capabilities and the company, I invested. In the midst of the roller coaster ride, I paid penalty fees to get out of my iPhone plan contract over a year early to get the new Z30. There is no comparison to the iPhone and I could never go back to the horse and wagon days. This phone blows that old tinker toy out of the water. It blows my mind how so many have the wool pulled over their eyes. We new BlackBerry 10 owners will feel privileged to be the pioneer owners when the state of denialism turns around

    Looks like the top priority may be focusing on areas of monetization instead of investing time, money & manpower into something that is thus far 'free' at the moment and not monetizing.

    In respect to the article, "BlackBerrys Will Make Up 98% of Mobile Devices on New Defensewide System". What is going on is that there are several that need to stay on the current BlackBerry devices they had been using as their handsets because the system was not prepared as of yet to manage rival handsets on MDM. MDM should be in place by end of January, whereas at that point the rival products will be able to be managed. This means for some who have been waiting, and if they are permitted depending on the level of security set by that individuals job, they may switch from older BB's to rival products at this point. The BB's however, are the only devices that can achieve ultimate security on BES10; a level of security that cannot be attained through rival devices. And so, for many levels and positions it will be a requirement to have the BB's. The 98% is questionable if you ask me.
